Ethnically diverse Humans in WoW doesn't break lore

So I saw this popup in the Black Elves thread so I though to mention it here.

To not write a few thousand word essay on this. I will just summarize the key points.

In WOW all humans are from a SINGLE (as far as we know) Vrykul clan.
Humans were born in secret and rather than be killed off (by King Ymiron orders) they were spared.

Somehow enough humans were born to make a community and then these fellas started travelling around the world (Like humans in RL). The first human kingdom was in Arathi Highlands called Arathor and they along with the High Elves killed those filthy and very smelly forest trolls.

And from there humans expanded all over Eastern Kingdoms.

Due to the nature of how races seem to evolve quite quickly compared to real life Races evolve in significant ways.
And not just the trolls either who could make a rainbow if they stood side by side.
But elves, dwarves, tauren and other creatures. They ALL evolve to look thematic to their surrounding. Why would WoW’s humans be any different? Even if they have a common ancestry. (Just like real humans).
It is fair to criticize Blizzard for not mentioning them more or adding more cultural flairs to humans besides Western Europe but ethnically diverse humans not being a thing is more odd than having them.

Now you might ask. Ok how did all these humans all end up in a white blond kid’s kingdom whether you are talking about Arthas or Andiun.

Very simple.
Orcs.

These guys came out of nowhere and burned their way from the south to the north like a tidal wave.
Just like human history where a rampaging Horde like the Huns shows up out of nowhere. You run.
So all these clans, villages, towns and whatever else existed in the world ran north to the powerful kingdoms in the north.
And when those collapsed they went south to Stormwind. The last remaining human kingdom until BFA showed up.

As a person who takes their world building very seriously. I assure you ethnically diverse humans are nothing to be concerned about where lore is concerned.
If anything we should be mad we didn’t get even more diversity. I blame the trolls for this.

Black Elves though? Now thats a different topic…

My argument is…who cares? Play what you want and let others do the same.

I mean Blizzard writes the lore. It’s their universe, they can put whatever they want into it. You may not like it, but that’s not really up to you.

Its for those who are concerned about lore and world building.
If you dont care about either of those then carry along.

Seems like you didnt even bother to read what I said.

That was more so directed to people reading in general, not you.

As a mutation of the curse of flesh I welcome it.

Humans, ya have all of the ethnicity.

For every other race… well at that point you are just pushing diversity for political points. Other races are diversity in themselves in Fantasy because they are different than humans.

Chicanery of the highest order I say! Thou art masking in the guise of concern for lore and consistency the pernicious sentiments of thine prejudice!
Guards! Escort this Draenei out anon, she’s clearly lost her composure.

what are political points and how many of them do i need to buy that cool sticky stretchy hand thing

Political points, basically just checking off boxes to say you are diverse for the “woke” crowd who most will say cool and wont buy your products, like the comic book industry right now DC/Marvel are a dumpster fire.

They weren’t spared. They were raised by their own mothers who tried to protect them. Vrykuls are the single reason Humans are alive.

Saying they were spared is implying the mothers were about to kill them, then last minute spared them.

Had to chum the water, didn’t ya

I’m not sure but it’s probably at least 3000. I recommend trying the ski-ball for best results.

OK, so where is the equatorial area that they hung out in for thousands of years? I don’t see such an area in any World of Warcraft zone, which is full of “dark human npcs?”

Disagreeing with anyone who wants this stuff only results in being personally attacked by them rather than there being a valid counter argument made to why lore shouldn’t matter in literature.

Yep! But my question is…

…what about ethnically diverse worgen?

:wolf:

You just want to play a Corgen.

You’re not taking into account that Humans mostly lived in one general area; the Eastern Kingdoms. Not to mention that Humans haven’t been around as long as Elves, Trolls, Dwarves, etc.

There’s not going to be a lot of diversity in a species if they all eat the same basic foods, live in the same basic climate, and can travel freely between each kingdom.

Oh goodie. This again.

I’d assume that worgen would be ethnically diverse in their human forms.
