Pretty much it sadens me that so many people put themselves in that situation. For me they just keep playing because of the addiction or because they still care more about playing with friends than the content of the game.
Yea, that’s a bit my point just that it’s not that I hate them or something, just that I’m disapointed in them.
Well good for you, I hope you found something that makes you happy because obviously WoW doesn’t you said so yourself and maybe you should think about if WoW is the right game for you, you skipped WoD and left BfA … time to reconsider if WoW is right for you!
Are you seriously cherry picking parts of peoples quotes to fit your narrative? I literally said right after what I said we play because we enjoy parts of the game. It’s nothing about addiction for me or my guild. We’re extremely casual in the grand scheme of things. We just enjoy hanging out in raid.
Mythic raiding is extremely fun to me, I enjoy the guild I built and I enjoy raid leading and overcoming challenging content.
So you’re talking on behalf of an audience you don’t fit in and you pity them? I bet that audience is really appreciate of you looking out for them with their crippling addiction to the game.
Fair enough. You do not need to love him. But considering so many players that have the same opinion I think it’s okay to just hear him out. There are much worse people out there anyways.
Yea. Playing with friends is what keeps us going. By that same token it feels like Blizzard is abusing the bonds we have to force this essence grind down our throats. I can imagine that if Blizzard forced all players to do 10 mythic 10s each week for an essence many would complain and hate it. This is because forcing players to do content they do not enjoy on repeat is a bad game design. The same is applicable in reverse re World Quests and Essences.
First of all. The idea that you need essences in order to perform at a decent level in raids or m+ is garbage and im tired of hearing it.
Maybe if youre a terrible player who needs every imaginable crutch, than sure.
But you can easily clear heroic raids and m+10 with lesser gear in competant groups. I know this because I did it at the begining of this tier/season and so did everybody doing that content or higher at the time.
All essences did (along with general gear progression) was make it so we could drop to 2 healers for most fights. That and I use less mana potions now. Thats it.
Im also tired of hearing people complain about having to actually play the game to progress. Or how everything is a grind. Or time gated. Or whatever your problem is.
As if wow hasnt always been a grind. I spent more time grinding for gold in Tyrs Hand or Shadowmoon Valley in the early days than ive ever spent grinding in BFA specifically because its time gated and daily.
You can set your own goals instead of having no choice but to grind gold in the same spot for hundreds of hours. More importantly you can finish. Once youve got your big 3 essences youre done. You can go do anything else.
I raid for 3 hours 1 night a week. I do one M+10 per week. So I spend roughly 4 hours a week doing obligatory stuff. I spend a couple more hours tending to my alchemy/auctions because I like having a free sub.
Yes I know I am criticizing your idol - must be a troll. The guy is a hypocrite if he cheats at the game and encourages other to do so and then claims he wants the game to be better.
I’m not a victim, I’m just calling you out for trying to twist what I said into making me look like some kind of pity person who can’t break his awful addiction to the game.
If raids ever stopped being good or I stopped enjoying playing with the people I raid with I’d quit. I’ve played this game since Vanilla and I’ve quit many times throughout the years.
BFA being the worst thing ever is such a lousy narrative and I’m sick of it at this point. It’s got some flaws like Essences not being account bound but other parts are blown way out of proportion.
Subs are a way to gauge the health of the game through seeing the potential market for transactions players conduct through the game shop. More people playing, more potential customers on the shop. Fewer people playing, fewer potential customers on the shop.
Let’s not kid ourselves. The subs stopped being reported because it got embarrassing how poorly WoW was doing compared to the past.
Don’t need you to make that determination for me. Maybe you should take a hard look in the mirror and try to figure out why you think you are the expert at knowing what people want?
I agree. All you have to do is the content you like doing and you have essences. That is one reason I like them. It would probably be a little better if they were more equal in power then we wouldn’t have as many of these complaints but I am fine with them the way they are.
The game should allow for people willing to put in more time to be more successful.
Essences and azerite armor before it dropped with everything unlocked is what he said in the video.
The essence system is really just the old azerite system with a new coat of paint on it really. Perhaps even worse, since you have to grind azerite and essences now. I don’t mind it for my main, but it destroyed any desire I had to play my alts.
Ah well sorry man, are you gonna pull a wod argument? Being better than half an expansion? That’s normally how people defend BFA.
OR you know people have legitimate concerns. And it’s a bad wow expansion. Now can it be a decent video game ? For sure.
If the hat fits… You do what you gotta do, but you said yourself that one of the big reason you keep playing is people raiding with you, which I think usually could be considered friends in the game. It’s not a terrible reason to play the game for friends, but clearly like some people have said that can be abused by Blizzard.
