Hello everyone. Why is it that most DH build no longer uses Essence break? is it weak now? I have started gearing up my DH since I am technically done with my DK.
Most builds do still use essence break though. The aldrachi reaver builds dont though and one of those is technically the highest simming build for raid, so that may have been what you saw, but it doesnt actually perform better than fel-scarred in any pve content.

ok thanks. I tried swapping between Essence Break and Chaotic Theory and I seem to do same dps for some reason and Chaotic theory does not need an extra button so am puzzled since Essence Break should do more.
The current raid build takes both of those though 
There’s a dot immo aura build that’s doing pretty well too
The meta and off meta builds appear less far apart numbers wise this expansion, so you’ll see more people “playing jazz” and experimenting than in recent years

it is good but its for a bad reason, there arent actually meaningful decisions in the tree, they are actually just all low impact

Essence Break is still taken with most builds, but omg it’s a pain in the butt to use and it hits like a wet noodle.

I dropped it in PVP. Could be a bad idea but I find fel barrage more fun. It’s nice pumping out damage while CCd.
How is it a pain to use?
It telegraphs to (good) opponents that it’s time to stun haha
Oh I mean that makes sense, guess I’m one of the few who doesn’t really focus on it lol
There was a popular WA from DF that shouted out major CDs and Essence break was on that list.
I think EyeBeam is the better target for stuns though nowadays.
good thing there is enough micro stuns and cc to interrupt both on cd
