Essence Break is Clunky

Disclaimer - Just recently came back to the game and started running a bit of m+, so my experience in the current patch is still very limited.

I want to like this talent more than I do, but everything about it feels wrong.

Cast it after eye beam, but while in Meta, feels bad to cast anything other than blade dance or chaos strike. Can’t cast it before eye beam cause then that’s just a waste of the debuff time while eye beaming.

40 second cooldown means it in no way syncs up with meta and eye beam with meta / chaotic transformation, which feels awkward.

Possible solution:

Essence break becomes passive, and is applied to all targets hit by the first blade dance used after entering demon form.

Concern there being that maybe blade dance becomes a bit too loaded since it already has the throw glaive synergy, but idk.

I just hate how clunky it feels, and I feel like with the hunt, and sigil of spite, and meta, we just don’t need any more 30+ second offensive buttons.

Is this a common complaint or am I way off base?

Very common. Pretty much everyone hates it except the blizzard dev and a few people over on the felhammer discord.

I personally can’t stand playing havoc because of it. It’s clunky and buggy and can miss targets because it’s a cone. The good news is that it’s not used in mythic+.

I’d rather they get rid of it completely and create a capstone that empowers eyebeam for ST or empowers glaive tempest for AoE.

Unfortunately I doubt it will ever change. Again there are a few vocal minority players that seem to enjoy it.

Essence break has a 40s cd. I do agree it’s clunky, however

Feels nice when it aligns with Eye Beam (cast right after) but when it doesn’t it’s rather awkward.
