And the biggest reason i never want housing in WoW.
It sucks in every other mmorpg, so it’s a huge waste of development time that could be spent on anything else

I love Old Republic housing. It’s kept me playing for years.
Sounds like a you problem.
Also: literally nowhere has Blizz said they’re doing housing yet so maybe calm down with this “waste of development” nonsense.

In LoTRO, its pretty cool. I own two homes (hobbit smial and a mead hall) and they have their uses. Each house is one-minute hearth (separate from the normal in-game hearth skills). I have stable masters at each that get me to just about everywhere in Middle-earth easily.
The hobbit smial is the base for my loremaster, minstrel, and hunter. There’s a full-blown farm (windmills, stables, a barn, chicken coops, cows, pigs, plots to farm, mushroom gardens, flower gardens, grain gardens, veggie gardens, the works). Also nearby is every kind of cooking apparatus in the game (multiple ovens, and a tree garden surrounding several benches and a fountain. The inside is a dining hall, multiple race-themed bedrooms, the rest is a dedicated library with maps, bookshelves, tables, scrolls, chairs, fireplaces, and the like. A scholar’s retreat, basically. Professions serviced: cooking, farming, scholar, forestry, woodworking, tailoring.
My mead hall in Rohan is the base for my guardian, beorning, and warden. More of a martial atmosphere. Military tents and barracks, towers, lots of banners, and every apparatus in the game for the making of armor and weapons of every kind of wood, metal, or cloth that can be made. Since, its a mead hall, the centerpiece is obviously a huge decorative firepit surrounded by tables. There are bunkrooms, storage rooms, an interior kitchen, and just about everything else meant to say “Groups of mounted fighters gather here to supply and move on.” Professions serviced: armorsmithing, weaponsmithing, woodworking, prospecting/mining, jewelcrafting, tailoring, cooking.
Understand, my houses are not where I do my primary stuff. Whatever region I’m in, I’ll usually go to the nearest city so that I can be around other people…because, hello, MMO. But its nice to have those there and I don’t think the scores of hours that went into making those homesteads into what they are were wasted at all. I have received random mail from players who check out my homestead and say “Holy crap, you gave me so many ideas! Great job!”

Palia housing is pretty awesome so far. They upped the building limit and I now have a small village on my plot, complete with restaurant and gazebo!

when i got my SWTOR house ,i went there and thought is was Awesome ,then never went back because the game is out in the zones/planets.
That is the only game that I have ever liked housing in and only after age of shadows which allowed the massive customization. I hated everything else about age of shadows for the record.

I made Stormwind in ESO once in a creative build. They have a really good system, and I like the flat open plots and structural components they let you play with.

There is literally a housing crisis in North America… FF housing really isn’t this bad.
The crests/gearing systems and currencies in S3/10.2 is much worse and more headache than FF housing…
Unless it doesn’t apply to you because you’re casual, then of course ignore it and say that other game over there is worse at a thing
