One of those pesky miners has escaped from the WOD mine and is digging holes in the middle of my garrison.

Any chance you lot can program me some safety cones to put around the hole he is making so nobody falls into it?
This is a public safety issue in my garrison and my insurance rates will go up if someone falls down that hole he is digging.

I have the same guy he just stands there digging and its like he is finding gold every time
yup same here. I was like WTh? My toon just watches him get up and down. It's kinda funny.
Mine's doing it too.
Got one too. My wife and I had him at the same time in both of our garrisons. He's always in the same spot, kneeling (or digging or "something") and sending up golden sparks and marking a sort of "gling, gling, gling" sound. It's quite odd. He needs to get a hobby.

Their plan, Fiveofnine, is prioritizing bugs. Game breakers, security, stability issues, etc are going to put ahead of an out of place, non-essential, flavor NPC.
It's easy to feel that an issue that directly affects you is important, which it could be depending on what it is, but there's a much larger picture that involves an entire community that is taken into account.
I run right past our lost friend multiple times a day, completely ignoring him because he's not needed for anything.

Undated my garrison to Tier 3 a couple of days ago, it was assaulted by plants of all things (I love this game!) and he appeared afterwards.
If I leave out the front way and then return, he disappears. But as soon as I log out/log in, port out/port in, fly out/fly in or any combo of them, he returns.
I take it no one knows how to get rid of him permanently 'cause having a miner mining in the middle of a pathway is immersion breaking and the movement, tinkling noise and sparkles are a steady source of annoyance when in that area.
Wonderful for you. That is not my experience.

I often use my garrison because it’s a quick port to mailbox, bank, guild bank, etc. AND to get away from the noise of busier centers (also pronounced “Scourge Invasion”).
This miner is the noisiest thing in the game.
Give it enough time, and you’d rather join the scourge in Boralus/Stormwind. And he stands right by where I need to be: the mailbox by the small plots (Storehouse).
It’s not always convenient to mute game sounds. However, closing the mine for upgrades seems to remove him. You’ll need to buy Lunarfall Excavation upgrade blueprints (1000g) + upgrade (500g).
I suspect he will return once the upgrade is complete + I re-open the mine.
I plan to never re-open that mine.
Don’t feel bad for him. With all the gold he’s found, he can buy blizzard with WoW Tokens by now.
Best 1500 gold I’ve ever spent.

2023 and the miner is still kneeling, just delete the NPC.
