I forget the name. The one that gave you extra vigor regen when you tapped a node. Where’d it go? Its absence is noticeable.
The menu of abilities has been changed. I just logged in and looked. The skill tree is different now. That ability is now gone.
It was deemed as fun and as we all know fun isn’t allowed so Blizz cleansed it
Well damn. That makes skyriding a whole lot worse than TBC flight for gathering.
If you select the middle tree for profession knowledge in tww herbalism or mining it gives the vigor recharge. You get it as soon as you open the tree (ie dont have to spend knowledge points to get it)
Wait. It got moved to the profession system? Now I have to see if that got back ported into my toons.
Edit: I just checked and couldn’t find what you were talking about. Are you sure you’re not getting confused with the ability to gather whilst mounted?
Yeah i noticed this the day we got pre-patch. They took that whole choice node out, along with the other choice node.
TWW not DF.
We gotta wait to get it back.
its there but for Khaz algar i guess? lol
open botany tab
On learning this specialization:
- Gathering herbs in Khaz Algar will replenish 1 Vigor.- +30 Deftness while gathering herbs.
So it’s just straight up deleted for DF zones forever though? Ugh. Kinda lame. No wonder I couldn’t find it in-game.
with prepatch - DF is “old content” but yeah makes 0 sense.
if anything it should work for all the herbs/mines in the game, not just Khaz Algar
The irony here is that blizz has already said that DF zones are larger than TWW ones. So you’d need it more in DF than you would in TWW. Yet we get it for TWW and not for DF? Cause logic. Amirite?
The choice node was probably removed
What also seems to be missing is the choice node for what happens when you land: damage or shield.
That probably got moved to Mining or something equally dumb.
It actually makes logical sense… so, yes.
Who benefits the most from being able to gather material the most effective in old content? Botters.
Why? Because it is a source of gold for them that isn’t necessarily that easy to detect, since it requires players in those older zones to 1) be there; 2) spot them; 3) realize that they are bots; 4) care enough about the game to report 'em. And as these forums (and the necessity of reminding players of the ToS via the social contract notifications) prove, there is a large subset of players who have the insane mentality of “don’t report other players despite it being against ToS/CoC.”
We currently exist in the state where DF is current content simply because we don’t have access to TWW yet. Which means that some changes will have weird effects that aren’t worthwhile enough to care about, but will still affect a larger-number-but-still-negligible amount of players. So…
Yes, the decision is entirely logical.
Regardless of it being removed, it makes a point that slow flying is more beneficial to harvesting. I never noticed, because I rarely use fast travel when I am harvesting since we got the ability to slow travel harvest. I loved when I first got slow flying and realized I could stay mounted when it was originally a fast travel ability.
Next expansion, I am going to have to level cap as fast as I can to have my slow flying back. While I use fast travel for rare farming or speed traveling; I enjoy the content, scenery and story more than having to manage resources to fly.
Fun detected nerf.
BlizZard rug pulled on their own DR creation within an expansion cycle. Expect things to worsen more before they improve. More people need to push back against BlizZard nuking things they introduce and making them worse over time (eg world quest system, M+).
It’s there for tww - but I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t be avaialble where ever you can skyride.
I have done a fair bit of gathering during the beta. Like df a lot of herbs and ore are placed in hard to get spots - like on the top of rock spires. It is much easier to herb/mine on steady flying for those hard to get spawns. In the last zone which has a complicated multilevel layout in some areas and a lot of short distance hops then steady flying is much easier for gathering.
And a couple of tips for gatherers…
Picking irradiated nodes off the top of high places is not a great idea unless yr a druid or can protect yrself (eg paladin). If you fall off most of those rocks you will usually die.
Spored herbs are deadly but also highly sought after… they spawn a number of green spores that follow you for 10 seconds or so - hitting one of them takes over half yr health and two kills you. Best is to stay still (stealthed if you’re a druid) and move out a very short distance if one spawns on you or fly up vertically if you can (they are often in caves).
A new thing is about 40% of spawns are camouflaged which you cannot see - and they are often the best spawns (ie the rare ore or rare spawn types). If you can see them there may be less competition for them early on. There’s an alchemist flask or potion (not sure which) that allows you to see them - it’s a discovery recipe so will be in short supply at first.
