I’ve gotten this error twice now today since a purchase from the store website. I received my items. The error shows up just after logging into a server at the character select screen so I don’t think it is coming from an addon.

I think this is what I’ve seen too.
Trying to log in after maintenance today upon getting home and getting this error again. Same as the last… Won’t let me log into a character at all.
I click on a character and i get somewhere after 80 percent, it freezes, I go back to the main character screen. Once I had to reconnect, the second time I got ‘World Server Down’.
Getting tired of these errors.

I saw this for the first time today. I never actually visit the store, but sometimes my mouse double clicks and I end up there, but have never bought anything.
I saw this today upon logging in, then selecting a character and entering the game locked up around 80% on the load screen. I forced WoW to close, performed a scan and repair in Battle.net, and the same error message persisted after relaunching WoW, but I could enter the game without issue.
I’ve had this issue since yesterday and again today. Have yet to see Blizzard respond to this.

Ok I’m getting into the game once again… but seriously guys get this fixed.
I just got this error today for the first time as well.
Spitballing:
- SetPortraitToTexture: Applies a circular mask to an image, making it look like a portrait (round in game bordered image)
- E_MISSING_CRYPTKEY: We know that Blizzard has been encrypting assets to obscure them
Perhaps texture ID 3922898 is something that shouldn’t be showing up in the store yet, and there’s an image (maybe real, maybe placeholder) on the server that it’s trying to load, but can’t because the decryption key for it isn’t available. (Assuming they are using asymmetric encryption and don’t encrypt and decrypt with the same keys, as that wouldn’t make sense for this use case.)
I wonder if it’s expansion-related and shouldn’t be in the shop list returned by the server, but is for some reason.
And I reply on a bank alt from a server I haven’t played on in years.

Hello, I figured I would just add my input. I actually stumbled upon this post the other day when I was just browsing through the forums…
Coincidentally, I ended up using the store like 2 days ago to transfer my Paladin to Illidan. Upon my arrival to Illidan, I started noticing that every time I would get on something that “Auto-Mounts” you, (such as world quests, flight paths, etc) then that would initiate the error message.
I think this stems from issues with the store because the error message references the Store UI (I’m sure you all figured that much lol) but for some reason I don’t receive the error when I open the store again, just when I am “Auto-Mounted”.
This is odd and annoying lol. Please fix.
Is anybody also getting the alert (next to enter world button at char screen) that your driver is out of date?

Got this massage too for the first time today. never bought anything on the store but I did have my friend gift me something. I can log into characters just fine though, just the error is a little annoying ever time I log in.

idk if this thing is messing up my ms aswell feels like it. pls get it fixed blizzard
I just had this exact same error pop up for me in the character login screen. A couple days ago I claimed a mount gifted to me through email but I had no interaction with the store directly and have not seen this error until now.
Completely reset to default ui and am still getting this error.
same here, it seems so kinda affect my ping too dunno if anyone else experiences this

I was noticing a latency issue while in a LFR. Dunno if the LUA error is connected, but I was having strange ping issues as well.
Thanks for the update. I figured it was a client error, hopefully it will get fixed quickly.
