i have tried to update the game and also uninstalled and reinstalled the game but stil get this message every time i log into wow. also it only says it on retail wow
I have been having this issue as well, but only when I additionally install a version such as Forever or Classic.
Your suggestion here has helped me for the time being. However, the launcher still doesn’t detect the “correct version of the game” even as I play it.
I have been trying to figure this out for weeks now. I appear to have finally fixed it. Your desktop shortcut… the world of warcraft one that we have always used. Dont use that one. You can actually delete that shortcut. Use the Battle.net shortcut. It is blue and white. Once it comes up…it looks exactly the same as the wow shortcut but without that error.
