Error code that refuses to allow WoW to be played

Ok been trying to solve this issue since end of Feb beginning of Mar. I updated the BN as it said I required it, it came back and WoW and SC were removed (only way to describe it) from my computer. I have gotten the error code: BLZBNTAGT000008FC repeatedly and have followed the 4 steps repeatedly to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled BN 11 times now and still nothing. I copied the 2 folders from my wifes computer so I know WoW is on my computer, but BN still refuses to load the game. It still says they can’t find it. I even tried to rebuy the game and it says I already have it (even though BN says otherwise) and I figured if I bought the up and coming Xpac, then that should fix it. Nope. Nada. SO is there a fix to this or do I just need to get them to refund the xpac and wait a year or two to see if it clears up? Any helpful Ideas would be appreciated.

Tech support would be better off…

Did you go into a new install of Battle.Net and tell it where to look for the copies you took from your wife’s PC?

They won’t connect automatically.

Other than that, I echo Darth’s recommendation. Technical Support would be more equipped to offer curated assistance for you.

After making sure the launcher can find the game, try temporarily disabling any third-party antivirus, firewall, or other security programs to see if any one of them is causing problems.

Re; 2 folders: which two folders?

Edit: It dawned on me the “4 steps” mentioned are from Blizzard’s article. However, I’m a bit confused as to where you are now.

  • Are you still receiving the BLZBNTAGT000008FC error code?
  • Is it instead, or also presently stating it can’t find the game?
  • How did you determine WoW and SC were removed?
  • Does the retail directory (if that’s what you’re playing) still exist, with files in it?
