Hey there Dârt, thanks for reaching out with those steps you tried! This specific error does typically indicate a network-related issue, however, it can have separate causes such as corrupted local Battle.net files or a problem with the Windows installation. Many problems related to your installation of Windows can be resolved by creating a new administrator account, logging into it, and trying the update there. To do this, please follow the steps on our Support Site here.
If the game updates only work consistently on the new admin account, it means that the old account is broken or corrupted in some way. This is somewhat common, and the easiest fix is to simply move your old files to the new admin account. You can also work with Microsoft to fix the problem with the old account if you like.
If you run into that same problem on the new admin account, does the error occur when testing an alternate network such as a mobile hotspot?
If the game updates when using the mobile network, that tells us the issue is isolated to the network that you are currently using. If this is the case we can only recommend contacting the ISP for assistance determining what is causing the issue to occur on the home network. Keep in mind that you can request to speak with a “level 2 or level 3 technician” when contacting the ISP, as the front-line representatives typically only have access to basic diagnostics and troubleshooting tools.
I hope this information helps you get back in-game smoothly!
nor network reset, new admin account, %folders% data deleted works…
alternate network also do nothing…
this is a two year old thread
and the problem still exists…
I think what he’s trying to tell you is start a new thread for your issue instead of resurrecting and hijacking someone’s 2 year old thread.
