Go ahead and try the Selective Startup link I posted above Cheesypoof. I’m going to be off forum for a bit here. I will check this thread later.
Thanks Tatt. I did add all those exception to my firewall and antivirus and double checked the startup link but unfortunately these changes did not solve my problem. I’m posting the latest error log for you (now that the firewall and antivirus have been dealt with). Hopefully this sheds new light on the problem

We still see this Symantec .dll at the top of the loaded modules:
DBG-MODULE<000000006d550000 00095000 "SYSFER.DLL" "sysfer.pdb" 0 {a16f709a-7c2b-4e5c-b549636e58377229} 1 1511709846>
Not a surprise actually. Antivirus don’t disable well - nature of the beast.
I think we made need to uninstall the Symantec temporarily to test things. Like I mentioned Windows detects that and instantly takes over with Defender.
You might want to get a ticket open on this as well. Get yourself in the Que.
Lannosaurus
Let’s get a ticket open on your crash as well:
I appreciate the help you provided Tratt
Yeah, I’ve put in a ticket. Not expecting a response for quite some time xD
Can you both let me know if you have any luck with those tickets. Bump this thread up if need be.
Ticket was answered. Was asked to do some of the stuff I had already listed above and then to reinstall wow. Did that and it didn’t solve the issue. Also ran an extended memory diagnostic but no issues were found.
I had the same experience Lannosaurus. Frankly, Tratt was more useful than the blizzard tech answering my ticket who basically sent me a canned response of troubleshooting links for the things I had already done, and stated as such when i created the ticket (did he read my ticket? lol). Getting a little frustrated at having to jump through these hoops for a product that was working fine prior to the patch. (end of rant). So, issue still unresolved and waiting for more input.
Alright. Let’s roll our sleeves up here. The Blizzard Tech that brainstorms these puzzles with me on Discord is on their days off. I’ll start gathering information. As I mentioned these 138 errors can be tough to crack.
First let’s take a detailed look at the Windows Errors.
(1) Type MSinfo in Windows Search.
(2) Open the “System Information” tool.
(3) Expand “Software Environment”.
(4) Open “Windows Error Reporting” at bottom.
Then click “File” in top corner. Click “Export” - give the file a name and make a note where it is going to be saved.
If you would pastebin that would be good.
Thanks, Here is the paste bin: https://pastebin.com/zAwkMHQr
They followed up and asked me to try as a different admin account but that didn’t work either.
It’s also pretty odd that I am able to play classic just fine. Only issue has been retail after the pre-patch.
Can you both run a quick Malware scan here. This stand alone scanner from Malwarebytes should do the trick:
If it finds anything paste the log.
I want to run a Ram test as well. While Memtest86 is the industry standard for testing Ram I like to use another tool which seems to work well and is much less complicated.
Download this tool.
Open 4 instances of the tool on your desktop. Next we need to establish how much Ram to test in each. You have 16GB - let’s leave Windows 3GB to do its thing.
Try 3000 MB (just the number 3200) in each tool. Start them up. If you see an error “Too much Ram” lower the amount by 100 to 2900. (You get the picture)
Leave all 4 tools run - let them run until 100% coverage is reached. The longer the run the better. As you would expect the computer will be out of commission while the tests run. Should take around 30 mins or so.
If you see errors go ahead and shut them all down. Even one error is one too many.
A blizz tech responded to my ticket now saying my laptop specs are a shade below min. i’m a little surprised and disappointed considering the age of this laptop (<5yr) but i suppose i don’t have a counter argument. Do you still want me to bother with your suggestions Tratt?
It is possible we need to update some things Cheesypoof. That is on my list. Go ahead and run those tests.
Can both you and Lannosaurus run DXDiag system reports when you get a chance.
The second section of page has DXDiag report instructions - we don’t require the MSinfo report.
That will be a wall of text. Go ahead and Pastebin it.
Here is the DxDiag: https://pastebin.com/EudfLmM1
Also did the AdwCleaner last night. it picked up 8 PUP files but the crashes still occurred.
Got this response from my Blizz ticket: https://pastebin.com/Aeb7daQQ
Seems the Tech specialist is leaning towards a game bug in all that Lannosaurus. Were you able to complete those suggestions. (If you are concerned regarding BIOs update disregard for now - we can get to that later)
One thing I see on the DXDiag is some Windows Features causing issue. Let’s disable XBox Game Bar and Game Mode. Go to Windows > Settings > Gaming. Disable XBox Game Bar then below that Game Mode.
Can you get me the Log from Adwcleaner. Open it again - along left margin is Logs. Paste that on here.
Tratt,

I ran the memory test with 4 windows @ 2800 each and stopped them at 107% with no errors found.

Nothing catches my eye on either of those pastebins Cheesypoof. Let’s roll the Nvidia driver back to previous version. Download driver here:
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/164742/en-us
We like to use a tool called DDU for a clean uninstall of driver and any remnants left behind by older drivers. Download tool here:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3300
Basically you extract the uninstaller from the download. (it will extract to a folder called DDU - the tool is inside that folder)
*Important: Unplug the Ethernet or disable the Wifi to avoid Windows automatic driver installation.
I like to boot the computer into safe mode then run the DDU tool. (This isn’t essential - you can ignore the tools warning. You will need to confirm you have the windows password before you do so. If you are using a PIN it will ask for the actual password after running safe mode.)
On the tool you select Graphics type then Nvidia. Run the recommended “Clean then restart”.
Now for the install. Start the driver download. Select Graphics only (no GeForce Experience). Select Custom install carry on to the next pane. There is a box to check for Clean Install select (check) that box. (Resets the Nvidia control panel and profiles to defaults)
You will see a Windows Smart Screen warning when you start the Driver install as you are offline - ignore that.
Connect internet - restart computer.
Tratt, Followed your steps, same result.
I had hopes for that Cheesypoof. Can you pastebin the most recent error. I want to take a look at something else as well.
(1) Type MSinfo in Windows Search.
(2) Open the “System Information” tool.
(3) Expand “Software Environment”.
(4) Open “Startup” .
Then click “File” in top corner. Click “Export” - give the file a name and make a note where it is going to be saved.
