im getting an error everytime i try to log in to a character after this patch
it says:

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal exeception!

The memory could not be “read”.

and then it crashes

classic era still works its just wotlk and ive had an error like this on retail for a long time now

Unfortunately it’s a very generic error, hopefully a crash log was created. It should be located in the install folder.

im not very tech savvy so really stupid question: how do i update my drivers? everywhere i look it seems that that is the problem but ive never had to before

Your motherboards manufactures webpage will have most you need.

Then either head to AMD / NVidia for your GPU driver.

"Updating my drivers from the manufacturer’s site ended up working for me.
Step by step:

  • run ‘dxdiag’
    on ‘next page’ > Device you will see the manufacturer of your graphics card (I got an AMD Radion RX Vega)
  • find the driver download page of your driver manufacturer, download the .exe to update drivers and fully run it and restart pc."

gonna try this out and come back with results the person on the sub said that this worked

Admittedly, this is an older box (Win8.1/AMD R7 200 series GPU), but it was working for Wrath Classic before the patch on 6/23/23 for TotC.

I updated the AMD Radeon driver and still get the same issue. It also occurs with my newly downloaded Hardcore PTR.

Wow Classic Era works fine so it only seems to be recent builds with this change/issue.
