Error 132 fatal exception AMD

Hey guys! Im getting ‘Error Code 132’. Fatal exception, application cannot run from memory.

The confusing part is that retail wow works just fine!

Here is what I’ve tried so far.
-full wow reinstalls
-scan/repair file in application
-updated video card driver
-defragmented HD
-ran a scan disk
-did a full UI reset in wow
even tried a full system format/restore

Nothing seems to work! And im certainly not going to buy a new computer for this. Blizzard, if you dont have a solution for me I’ll have to deactivate my account after more than 10 years.

Hi there Shartt,

This looks like part of a known issue we have been seeing with low end AMD cards. The main fix for this is to force windowed mode and make sure no overlays are enabled. Out side of this, it is being looked in to.

  1. Go to Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App WoW tab
  2. Select Game Settings from Option dropdown
  3. in Game Settings, activate the option “Additional command line argument.” Type in:
    -windowed

Hope this helps!

I, like a lot of people with older equipment, have been having the Error #132 and 3d accelerator issue error messages and I would like to share some information about my experiences with it. This is not a solution, but for now it may help someone to be able to still play.

I’ll start with a little info on my system. Older Dell laptop Intel I7-2620m processor with switchable graphics Intel 3000 HD/AMD Radeon 6600m-6700m. This has been running WOW well at medium graphic settings using the Radeon since I started playing again a few moths ago.

I installed Classic a few weeks ago since, this was the whole reason I started playing again, and kept getting error #132 in Classic only. I looked around and found the -windowed work around, which worked. I then decided to try updating everything on my laptop to try and fix having to play Classic windowed when released. Nothing helped or hurt my game until I installed a Windows 10 version 1903 update. Then WOW and WOW Classic decided it was time to become unplayable using my Radeon graphics by giving me the 3d accelerator not supported error at startup. Both worked with the Intel graphics but would be barely playable at the lowest graphic settings. I ended up just uninstalling the Windows update I installed and everything went back to being playable, but classic still has to be windowed.

I also noticed that BattleNet had a video scroll banner after I installed the Windows 10 version 1903 update, but didn’t before or after I uninstalled the update, so is this a Windows 10 issue?

I don’t really expect anyone to read this and say here’s the fix you need. I just thought maybe someone with older equipment may still want to play and the information above may help them.

I’ll be keeping this in mind Dernett come next week. From what you describe uninstalling the 19H1 update is a valid solution if all else fails.

Windowed mode did not provide a solution. Will post error message.

windowed is not a solution, and
if it was a solution its very ugly.

no resolviste…

4 years later.

Don’t necro posts.
