I have tried all the solutions here and various google searches. I have completely reformatted my pc and reinstalled the OS fresh. updated all drivers and installed warcraft from scratch. Crash happens in WOTLK and Dragonflight. No addons installed.

I also opened a ticket and supplied all required logs including the crash log.
Ticket ID: US95682506

The forum isn’t a means for bypassing the ticket queue, so you’re best suited waited for the response.

Make sure you’re installing WoW on a drive with NTFS format. External drives are not supported, even though some players can get them to work. If you dragged your WoW install to the reformatted PC, then you may be dragging the problem, too.

Sorry, i was not trying to circumvent the queue. I wanted to add this in case anything useful came from the ticket.

The initial response was to try all the things i have already done. I’m a computer / security engineer by trade so i am not coming at this blindly and understand where pitfalls may lie, like transferring the old folder etc.

The only suggestion i had not tried was the cpuid monitor. Which i now have running and have added logs from that to the ticket for My most recent crash. I also found an older article stating periodic issues with MSAA, so i have turned that off now to see if it helps.

In most cases, it’s just a generic permission error. It can happen if security software is controlling the drive, or backup utilities like OneDrive/Dropbox. And it can be overlays from Discord, Xbox, nVidia, or sound driver utilities. The possibilities are endless. I recommend taking a look at the exported MSInfo report, read the error reporting at the bottom. Sometimes it gives clues.

Also, I’m guessing they linked you to this? https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/000008288
