ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal exception

I saw a few posts from Retail, but I’m getting this very frequently since the last patch, too from WOTLK. I’ve tried every support system online and still getting it. I reseated my RAM, ran all the diagnostics, reinstalled WoW, and just nothing. Any ideas how and when to fix this? Here’s the error.

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_classic_\WowClassic.exe
ProcessID: 17860
ThreadID: 17864
Exception: ACCESS_VIOLATION
The instruction at “0x00007ff61d9de79e” referenced memory at “0x000005fd8a66eb40”. The memory could not be “read”.

I am also receiving this error. The moment I reach the character selection screen I receive this error and the game crashes.

I was getting this error a bunch, too, until last night. I tried all the things you were talking about, including reseating my ram (which was a pain because I was out of town and this was a laptop). In the end, what fixed it for me was updating my graphics driver. I hadn’t realized a new driver dropped for it in december and updating literally fixed the whole issue. I’m guessing there’s something they did in the most recent updates that older versions of some graphics drivers just don’t jive with. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I’ve updated my driver and checked for updates regularly. No dice. Do you use the Nvidia GeForce experience updater?

Do you use Bartender, out of curiosity?

If you have AMD / Radeon, it is likely that is the problem. Maybe it will be fixed and maybe it won’t. If this is your only game system and you want to get back in after the patch, I suggest a new video card.

FWIW, I have a Radeon system with zero addons, full uninstall & reinstall, completely reset the interface, rechecked all drivers, and reduced every video setting to lowest setting, and I still have the exact same problem.

I have another system with NVidia and it has probably a dozen addons (including bartender) and most video settings at max, and it boots very nicely.

So it looks like I may have fixed my issue. I was using the AI overclock tuner from the Bios. I turned that off and manually overclocked my system. That seems to have done the trick. I had a ticket response saying it was a memory hardware failure on my end (odd since I ran the ms86 ram test with perfect results), but it is what it is.

Thats great that it worked for you, but I am not using any o/c whatsover. My system does not have or support any o/c function at all.

Again, many players were just fine before the patch, and have not been able to play ever since. At least not without purchasing a new video card.
