Eredar Warlocks

The Eredar are probably my favorite race in the game. They fit the warlock aesthetic better than an orc, dark iron, or any undead/human I’ve ever seen… I know getting them ever will be unlikely… but imagine playing a big buff badass eredar summoning a pit lord destroying your enemies… I can dream.

well they intend to give them to us, though it’s the most difficult lore race/class combo to justify so it may be among the last to be given.

When have they ever said they intend to do that?

during this development cycle. they want to move toward removing all restrictions

That’s not them saying the are giving anyone Eredar though.

Eredar are NPCs.

Draenei are PCs. Unless you’re thinking they are giving Draenei customization options to make them look like Eredar, they’ve said nothing of the sort about either of those things.

You’ve extrapolated information that doesn’t exist.

lmao you’d have to be able to play an Eredar before you can play an Eredar warlock. You aren’t talking about removing a restriction, you’re talking about creating an entirely new race.

draenei are eredar. eredar is just the race
two factions within the race
Man’ari eredar. fel corruption, burning legion, bad guys, npcs
Draenei eredar. light influence, alliance, good guys, pcs.

Not entirely.

They based LightForged off of regular Draenei.

However, Eredar would have to be some new Allied race OR customization for Draenei, which would make the allied with the Alliance anyway.

To make them playable by Horde, they’d kinda have to be something like Void Elves were for the Alliance.

That’s fine, but I’m sure you know that’s not how Allied races work, and no one has said anything about making anything even looking like an Eredar “playable”.

once draenei get warlocks you can play an eredar warlock. that’s what a draenei warlock would be. only thing you’d be missing is red skin. but that’d be manari feature not eredar

Don’t think you’re understanding the difference here.

You’re splitting some REALLY wild hairs to make this work in your head.

That’s not how any of that works.

The Eredar are literally the ones that joined the Legion.

The Draenei are the ones that didn’t.

I’m aware that as an ENTIRE race we were once called “Eredar”, but now they have that name and we do not.

THEY are Eredar. WE are Draenei.

You’re confusing yourself by not understanding that distinction.

To further differentiate Eredar and Draenei more than just simply saying one joined the Legion the other didn’t… Eredar also have fel-pocked skin. Their skin colours range from almost black, to a dark purple, to a vibrant red, and they very often have scars all over their body, very often with a fel green glow about them. Their horns are usually a bit more demonic looking, and many of them even have wings (a potential racial bonus)

While it is true Draenei base race is indeed Eredar, they no longer call themselves that. I don’t believe there is ever see a single line in the game that calls them Eredar, they always are referred to as Draenei. Thus when someone says Eredar, they are referring specifically to the demonic Eredar.

Given this distinction I don’t think even Draenei cosmetics would cut it. Playable Eredar would truly be more akin to Lightforged Draenei. Different enough to justify being an allied race.

aren’t Eredar demons now?

Would be cool to give us Man’ari as an allied race for the Horde. Could give us some lore on them and maybe also the legion with Sargeras now locked up.

What would the “traded” race be for Man’ari? All I can think of is one of the many troll tribes.

Eredar would be a separate allied race, they have a good bit of customization already & they’d make cool warriors, hunters, maybe rogues too. The guy saying they’re becoming a race is a troll.
