Alright, I am need of your expertise WRA. Do we have any context of the world of Argus outside of what we explore on Legion? I am wondering if there is any place on Argus I can reference as a desert region or residence. I am striking out completely.
The only Argus region is can see to find is Kaarinos. A Draenei apparently references how Wintergrasp reminds them of this mountainous region.
I promise I’m totally not stalking you. But it’s hard to resist anything draenei or mage related.
I haven’t read anything about a desert zone but I can always keep an eye out. This can totally just be me running with an idea, but I wouldn’t think there would be a desert area since deserts are due to over cultivation or whatever the word is for it.
The way Velen always reminisces of Argus makes it sounds lush and fruitful. And the draenei farms on draenor seemed pretty high tech with their own weather and irrigation systems.
Regardless, I’ll keep an eye out. I know the chronicle books are loosely defunct, but I planned on getting whatever one had the draenei bits in it. Perhaps that talks about Argus.

Interesting enough, mountains can sometimes form a “Rain Shadow” which essentially causes a permanent drought on one side. Then after thousands of years of erosion from wind hitting the mountain you get all the little bits of sand.
Yeah, it he really does talk it up haha. There aren’t any regions really referenced outside that one edge case with the mountain region.
Well, you beat my general geography knowledge. Is this for RP? I don’t see why you couldn’t run with the idea of erosion causing a desert. There’s so much missing out of draenei lore and Argus was massive, I don’t see why not. This is where artistic license comes into play. Lol
Yeah, I’m in the process of recreating my TRP since I wanted to start fresh and I was lookin’ at birthplace, thought to myself, “man putting Argus down for her birthplace is really lame…is there any city referenced on Argus?” Autai loooooooves the desert weather and lives in Gadgetzan so I was hoping to have a region to parallel with Argus and Tanaris.
Like you mentioned earlier, the Chronicle books are becoming more defunct but I really hope Draenei get a large entry in the next one.
If it makes you feel better, I only know this since my sister is a geologist and just drops this stuff on me randomly lmao.
I say go for it! I have seen much worse lore-bendy stuff, as I’m sure you have as well. Even though I would really call this lore-bending. Lemme just tweet at blizzard about deserts on Argus… lol
I wish I had a cool title irl. People RP geologists in the game… wow. That is way more nerdy than I planned it to be. 
It’s alright, I was seeing if anyone had any references before I just say my girl just loved the beaches of Argus and wants to stay near the beaches of Azeroth LOL.
I would take references in Hearthstone at this point haha.

There isn’t any lore that says there IS a desert, but! there also isn’t any lore saying there is not a desert on Argus.

Something worth noting is that because deserts are simply areas with very low precipitation, you could actually say your character is from Kaarinos just by pretending the snow-capped mountains are more like a frozen-over tundra. Snowy and ice, but with no actual snow like… ever. Argus Antarctica.
