I’m glad we always will have the base game to play and enjoy. I’m also excited that they’re testing new things in a seasonal sandbox that may lead to a proper classic plus in the future.

Best in Slot is one of those ‘solved game’ terms isn’t it? I remember raiding in dungeon blues trying to figure out which of the priests snuck in shadow talents. Boss dead? Nuff said. BiS is just code for item level shenanigans down the road. or does ‘link the achiev’ come first? Oh? you’re worried people will waste your time? in the game we’re playing for leisure?
UGH, I’m just salty about going to work to be honest. Classic obviously has the benefit of being pre-recession/collapse content but when you throw around retail levels of superiority it irks me, people weren’t like that as much in classic until server transfers when community took a dive and no one knew anyone they didn’t transfer over with.
Vanilla was BiS. This gdkp ecosystem on era is the lame.

The way it seems is people spent a lot of real life money to buy gold, boosts, gear and consumables and thought classic + would be a continuation of era. They found out all that real life money was wasted and now they are mad. Blizzard should look into how much gold is being mail/traded and start perma banning accounts.
Ironically, HC is partly what flooded Era servers, over saturating Whitemane and Mankirk, and bringing in the crazy Season of GDKP & Inflation.
Era was at a very healthy population level prior to that with much less emphasis on GDKP, RMT, and botting. Certainly not dead then, nor now. Vanilla wow has had a community for 20 years now. Always will.
PS come check out the dead server I play on, Grobbulus, where GDKP doesn’t exist and where Patchwerk met his fate last week, and is about to see his end again tonight. He’s totally totally dead. More dead than undead. Just like the server

I’m not a vanilla only enthusiast I play all versions of WoW. The Classic Franchise though really crapped the bed with Wrath launch. Used to be friendly with dozens of guilds in vanilla/tbcc now they all are GDKP guilds cus if you can’t beat ‘em join em mentality.
I’ll be playing SoD and Cata regardless, but Era was really fun when Wrath launched before it got infested with HC players and Wrath GDKP Andy’s
