Epics should be blues

Getting an epic feels so meaningless now that it’s pathetic to even consider it at the caliber it is. I get epics more than I get greens now.

BiS should be all purply, nothing else. Would make getting one feel epic, as opposed to a bag full of purple vendor trash.

Gonna agree that the designation of ‘epic’ has lost its meaning over time.

yeah they’re just stat sticks now. nothing interesting on gear at all.

I kind of miss the epics of classic era. Just seeing green text on the item made it “feel” more interesting idk, something about epic quality items that actually did things.

I also think some of the BFA epics (like the weapons from the 2 boss raid or Azshara) were good examples of “epic” items since they did more than just give you stats.

Dungeon armor should def be blue (with the exception of trinkets and some of the jewlery) :100:

What about a new light purple colour for upgradeable gear that turns epic purple once its max upgraded? Like cypher max level, whatever the valor maximum is, 8/9 conquest because the 9th doesn’t apply to pvp, etc

“Epics give me the blues…” and a sax solo. :notes: :saxophone: :trumpet:

Gear color doesn’t even matter and it shouldn’t.

Well you can get a legendary now for a quest chain where NPC’s help you on the challenging parts.

Nah. I like purple. It is a nice colour.

Uncommon, Rare, Epic makes a lot more sense with a fixed increment warforge/titanforge system (kinda like quest rewards upgrading) than it does with gear in general at this point.

Epic gear is not epic if there are no Clout attached to it.

epic items should have more passive and on use effects that would justify making them unique-equip and more 2 piece sets that give a unique bonus, instead of all the work going into the items name and what the piece looks like.

The gearing system basically lost all meaning after TBC. Should have kept it simple.

Questing: Greens
Dungeons/M+/Unrated PVP: Blues.
Raid/rated PVP: epics.

Now i know the M+ people will be like “but why not M+ epics i want dat purp” M+ is still a dungeon and it just makes sense to keep the colour as blue. Its not a slight at you, the colours dont impact the stats it is meaningless now just use it to show where your item came from.

I think the distinction between a blue and a purple should be drop chance. Items with very low chances to drop should be colored purple, while most items from raids, m+, or rate pvp should be blue.

Associate the color to the rarity of the item.

You’re confusing quantity with quality. It’s not epic because it’s super rare, it’s epic because it’s super powerful.

Of course they don’t feel like Epics anymore. And they probably never will again. The average player is significantly better at the game than we used to be.

Unless you want the challenge to be more time-gating, or locking them behind the hardest content in the game.

Why does the color of gear matter soo much to you?
