Not even a little bit viable. Demo has been slightly reworked so now a majority of damage comes from the fel chad. If it’s not out, you are losing serious damage output and potential to put out pressure.
Honestly why is this even a PvP talent for Demo? They will NEVER use anything but felguard. Charm that breaks by damage, and is interruptible? Or pet stun?
What a choice.

Its an interesting talent when it has been usable. Id having rather have it than not,i just wish it was tuned a bit better. Also it should really be “master demonologist” where you get a bonus from other pets aswell. The encouragement for non felguard builds is interesting.

I agree it has been interesting but right now it’s basically unplayable unless you go for NO felguard talents. Blizzard put themself in a corner, where the demonologist summons a single demon that is so much better than the rest of their summons barring specific circumstances that most used it 100% of the time, THEN built a talent tree where there are talents that do nothing for any demon BUT the already strongest demon you have.
It’s homogenization for balance, and this talent is well and truly dead.
Edit: There’s also an extremely potent talent locked behind Annihilan Training, which serves to make your Felguard THE demon you summon. Not getting the talent From the Shadows is a big loss.
Yeah, bit sad. I love my wrathguard/felguard but Im so dissapointed they are doubling down on him. We’ve been using it since BC almost exclusively Im ready for a new permanent summon. Bring back perma doomguard/infernal? Perma summonable Moarg? Dreadlord? Inquisitor? ANYTHING new.
So…
You are traveling the Demonology Road… its clear… very smooth has fantastic options as far as places to eat and hotels to sleep in and for some reason you want to drive off that road and into a ditch even considering PTP
