Neckbear:
While I appreciate the extra honor and kind of like the dynamic of being able to choose between fast marks and fast honor and be able to get something worthwhile out of a losing game, there’s some aspects of the flag reward meta that are downright toxic.
For my Alliance premade, there’s no real HPH difference between 2 caps and 4 caps, so we just grab as many bases as we can and run flags the whole time. Easy in, easy out, lots of marks and honor. Yesterday though, we got absolutely steamrolled by a horde premade, who proceeded to hold two bases, leave two uncapped, and run flags for 30 minutes while farming us at our starting island. It’s absolutely awful to play against, and if that meta catches on among lower-tier players (all of the premades I ever came up against while pugging just ended the game, rather than stalling it for maximum honor), it’s going to cause the same cycle as happened in AV, where horde started hard turtling due to their 15 minute queues, which then rapidly turned into 2 hour queues.
My premade did this for 8 hours on Friday. (Alliance)
We’d cap one base, run flags, and farm the horde while leaving the other 3 bases un capped.
800+ honor a game if we did it right. Imagine sitting in a 40 minute queue just to face a premade and get stuck in the game for 25 minutes getting 0 honor.
