I’m playing Feral and a few times in BG’s I noticed that Entangling Roots isn’t putting me in combat. I even used it while I was in combat and it didn’t refresh the timer before I dropped combat.
I haven’t played Feral in PvP very much so I never noticed this before. Is this a bug or normal behavior?
Most CC doesn’t start combat anymore, no. Apparently people were having too much trouble landing CC in dungeons. You know, back when we actually used it there -_-
Only one I can think of that might is cyclone, and by the time you’re close enough to use it you’ll be in combat anyway.
Normal. In bgs I will usually hold a P.S. charge, drop combat, root my target and stealth to get in a rake stun.
It’s normal. Whenever I’m running around I Just cast it on someone and keep running. Stops them, keeps me out of combat and I can continue on doing my thing.

Protip: if you want to get lots of re-stealths as resto cast entangling roots and then regrowth yourself to drop combat. If people don’t have an interrupt they will usually just ignore you because they’re assuming the regrowth will put you in combat (you usually aren’t expecting someone that’s actively casting to just drop combat). And if you have focused regrowth you can put the regrowth hot on whoever has your lifebloom also without going into combat
