Seems that you can \ have to re-buy the set ensembles as items were missing. The game doesn’t show that they are missing, but you can re-buy them and learn items, usually belts, bracers and boots. So basically have to farm and spend ANOTHER million or more bronze just to make sure you have everything. #sigh
I’m gonna wait before i buy these in case it’s a bug.
Can you list some of the ones you’ve found that you think are bugged, and which pieces are missing specifically from the respective ensemble(s)?
I have the issue as well. Worse yet, even if I re-buy an ensemble, it’s 50/50 whether the game says I already know all the appearances or if it lets me buy them. Here’s one example from Pythagorus with a DH:
Ensemble: Vestment of Second Sight. Add-on All the Things says I’m missing High Shadow Councilor’s Wrap among other items, but the game says I already know this ensemble and won’t let me re-learn it.
But if I go to Arturos, it let me relearn the Ravensteel Mail and pick up all the missing mogs.
Yeah, I thought it was kind of strange seeing as how the add-on I am using removes all things that I had bought and yet these ensembles were back up on the vendor. So, I decided to blow a million bronze to check and sure enough I was learning them again.
I’m guessing the ones you already know (as in “completed set”) are the mythic variety? That seems to be the hangup that’s preventing some of these ensembles from working. Even if you don’t know the lower tier variants, if you know the mythic set from the actual retail raid, it won’t even let you learn the items on a different class because you “know” what the ensemble contains - that same class specific set variation even though it also contains the class agnostic version for that armor type.
I never did Legion retail with a DH so I learned all the appearances via Remix. But you make a good point, that if the ensemble correctly gave me all the mythic appearances but not the lower tier variants, then the game may think it’s given me everything already.
At this point it looks like we need a blue post to confirm the issue and provide a fix.
I havent found a single set that I have actually bought the ensemble that I have to rebuy.
It looks like the people that are having to buy stuff have been using addons.
yes, i and other guild members have had this issue, basically need an addon to let you know you have missed appearances. It was only a couple that i had to rebuy, some several times. I mentioned this in another thread here and was told I was making stuff up and thats not how they work.
It may not even be that. A lot of the “epic” versions of the items that are in the set contain the core set items (the class specific parts) and some of the epic pieces are also class agnostic, meaning they’ll work for every class that can wear that armor type. For instance the Astral Warden druid ensemble has the epic parts of the set itself, but has some epic pieces to fill out the “full garb” look like most class sets do, but also contains green “filler” slots just in case.
Players may be mistakenly thinking they aren’t getting the full sets when they learn the ensembles, but if they carefully scroll up the chat window they’ll see the entire set learned, all variants. The class agnostic parts do not show up in the Sets tab of the transmog window for either the base UI or the transmog vendors. You have to look those up by name and add them in piecemeal to complete a particular variant’s look.
As another example, if I pick the shoulder slot I’ll find that there is a green “Astral Warden” shoulder that is actually the mythic appearance of the actual druid tier shoulders. But you wouldn’t know that unless you paid attention to the ensemble’s “items” when shift-clicking on the vendor window to see them so you could write the names of the class agnostic items down.
Where players are actually being denied is when they know the full mythic set and the associated filler pieces. If they know the entire “garb” the ensemble doesn’t seem to let them learn the set. Blizzard should have simply made these ensembles with brand new IDs that were truly agnostic for all slots and assigned a set tag (and flag) to them so they would appear in the Sets pane for easy transmogging.
It seems to be people using addons that are seeing the problem. Now that a new patch is here and the addons are out of date it seems like people are seeing that they didnt have the things that they thought they did.
I went through and bought every single ensemble aside from the ones that the system told me I already knew.
Unless the system was saying that you knew the entire ensemble because you knew the mythic version then its 100% an addon issue.
Except I’ve had cases where I could re-buy an ensemble I had bought and used before, and the game let me learn more of the set pieces. I just had one case where I bought a dungeon set that I was missing two pieces on, I used it, but only learned one and still missing another.
It’s crazy.
Or you just thought you bought it but didnt.
And if this stuff IS happening, you put in a bug report and go to the bug forums.
This issue will be resolved in patch 12.0.
At that time, logging in will grant you the missing appearances. You do not need to re-purchase these ensembles.
While you’re here regarding ensembles, there’s 5 on live from Osidion in dornogol (5 different Educator’s Knowledge sets) that have been bugged not giving both chest pieces this whole expac with dozens of bug reports that haven’t been fixed.
Will people who re bought the ensembles get a refund of bronze? I re bought every raid one because there was “new” stuff it let me learn. I had everything bought prior to the latest patch
Curious as to why the issue can’t be resolved (along with the LFR appearances) prior to then?
That is appreciated to know, but can this not be resolved in a hotfix during the event instead of waiting until afterwards and hoping that there are no issues distributing it?
Will that also be the case for the earthen heritage armors im missing 3 items from it and from the one from siren isles
Great news, thank you! Also wondering why it can’t be done via a hotfix while the Remix event is still active in case the issue isn’t 100% solved afterwards, but working in IT I’m thinking the team’s backlog’s pretty full already. ![]()
