These people who run ahead and pull all the damn time is really starting to piss me off! I like tanking, But if this is gonna keep one happening whenever i tank then i might as put my shield away and never touch it again. So sick of this S**t!
I checked your profile, and while i understand having others pull more can be annoying, if youre just doing normal heroic or base mythic dungeons theres no point in pulling small. The fact is you can pull half the dungeon and not die even with bad gear. Slow tanks are also annoying to deal with (just to offer another perspective)
I get slow tanks are annoying to deal with, but’s still inconsiderate.
It makes tanking feel like a race. And half the time I feel bad for healers, because I notice in lowbie dungeons a lot of NEW players lately who struggle to keep up while learning how to play
Being an a-hole to tanks in dungeon pugs, regardless of difficulty will only result in even less tanks in dungeon pugs, either those starting out in the role or those who want to develop their skill and move eventually to high keys
Now I’ll wait for the masses of tank-capable people to come in and tell me otherwise with their 100% DPS and 0% tanking scores, especially you lovely havoc DHs
Well, bye.
It always has been. You pull everything you can handle without getting everyone killed. This isn’t new. In TBC, there were certain mobs to cc, but the hunter/mage is supposed to be 1 step ahead and do that right before the tank rounds the corner.
Last I checked the dtps in heroic dungeons, it was 2.5k while being a damage focused maniac. That’s not entertaining for a tank/healer and the dps melt those pulls in seconds. There is no “play well” requirement in anything sub 7 and even up to 11 is completely free.
Let me clarify.
It shouldn’t be a race between DPS. DPS shouldn’t be RUSHING to pull ahead of the tank and the tank shouldn’t have to rush to pull more and faster than need be, because he’s trying to be over zealous dps.
More than once I’ve seen healers rage and quit, or go oom because they can’t keep up.
And the biggest issue is tanks watching healers for mana, and dps pulling anyway.
You’re talking in content that people can smash through, but the problem is people get used to behaving that way there and then they do it when it matters that you DON’T do it
Or, for one person in the group, said content is still the type they smash through, while someone else takes umbrage because they’re at a lower level of play, and instead of simply saying so, they resort to “You’re the dps, stop pulling ree”
Communication and honesty. Make sure everyone’s on the same page before things start.
i do miss when dungeon and raid trash would basically one shot anything that wasn’t a tank
I change into cat form so tanks cant see my mana between pulls so they wont wait for me =)
Give them the chance to get sat. If they don’t, it’s on them
Sigh…healers set the pace…i learned this tanking on my dk worgen…who no longer exists…id do same for my war though.
Dungeon pace should be decided based on how much healing the healer can handle. Pulling more resulting in wipes is often cause a healer couldnt keep up. Remember some healing classes are re active and can heal more quickly in panic situations where other healers focus more on preimptive hots.
Part of the tanks responsibility is evaluati g group comp and determining course of action off that.
why I only tank for guildies, just to much bs to put up with.
As a tank it’s also not to hard to make friends, most decent dps’ers and healers are always willing to bnet a good tank
“if youre just doing normal heroic or base mythic dungeons” there’s no timer, so no reason to hurry.
OP: memorize the following: “you pull it, you tank it.”
There’s always a timer. If it isn’t in game, it’s irl.
No one wants to stay inside a dungeon twice as long as they have to.
They prefer to wait for a tank longer than it takes to do the dungeon?
You would think all of these “I have 5 jobs, 5 kids and 5 wives” people who are so busy busy busy would go learn to play and gear up their respective tank/heal specs instead of waiting an hour or more for a magic applicant to apply to their M+ group.
Oh well it’s easier to complain than to take responsibility, that’s why DPS players are so popular.
Well that and fact most people would rather complain about the few of us that do tank things rather than pick up a sword and shield to do it themselves.
Edit: i only ever tank world bosses and only cause i want the wqs, the spec is off spec for me, i main fury cause i just dont like dealing with the people as a tank.
