Enough time has passed… Dragonflight was one of the best wow expansions

Dragonflight was one of the best wow expansions. hats off to the devs for making this one in COVID. took the community out of the Shadowlands hole.
Whichever way you rank it, this xpacs top 5. We got Tuskarr, Fishing, Dragonriding, and three awesome raids. There was 4 seasons, so this was the first xpac with truly no downtime or dead patch in PVE or PVP. Again, hats off to the devs

It was good. Amazing? No, but good.

I didn’t like the story at all and felt it was pretty lackluster. Did like some other aspects of it but nothing blew my socks off for sure. All the raids were just kinda standard and even the Megadungeon didn’t really excite me at all.

Liked some of the newer features though like dragonriding so those going into TWW feel good.

It’s a 4/10 for me. :dracthyr_shrug:

It was very mid for me, nothing too bad, but nothing super good either :woman_shrugging:

I thought it was a very pleasant expansion but to be honest, for a dragon themed expansion the dragons didn’t really go that hard. They really should have.

honestly wasnt too bad.

valdrakken needed to perform better tho. crazy to have the city where we spend the most time perform this bad.

i hope whatever main city we get in TWW will be better optimized.

*it felt like it was tuned to send ppl to buy tokens pretty often though. i didnt like that.
i was staying afloat easily for years just with BoEs before this xpack somehow changed my gold flow. that sucked. was ultimately the reason why i needed a big break.

The expansion overall felt good after SL.

I’m mostly a dungeon person though and disliked most of the DF dungeons so that was a big downside for me.

Flightstones have been the anchor weighing the expansion down imo. Such a stupid addition, literally zero people like them.

The main problem is that everything Dragonflight did, needs more time in the oven or needed more time in the oven. Great dish, just very under cooked every single time.

the best?!

I doubt it was the best.

Middling at most, the story was ignorable, gameplay stale and Evoker uninspired as a class choice.

I liked DF and felt it was worth the price paid for it.

Tuskarr and fishing… meh Those are okay but not my favorite things

Dragonriding - yeah i really liked Dragonriding! I just wish there were more mounts to choose from in the beginning.

3 awesome raids - I just started trying awakened LFR this week and have avoided raids for the most part before now so i have nothing to compare them too. they seem pretty good, i guess.

I’d put it middle of the pack honestly. Great expansion and after SL feels like a well needed breath of fresh air, but it isn’t reaching the heights of MoP or WotLK

Still though, in being middle of the pack is still absolute miles ahead of some other expansions

If you don’t consider the story, then it’s an S tier expansion. People forget how well balanced all the specs were in Season 1. Everything just felt right in S1. Then stuff started getting whacky.

The dungeons weren’t that great though. I felt they were trying a bit too hard in the mechanics department.

Gameplay was good. The awful writing ruined it for me though

Content was cool and fun, story ranged from decent in 10.0 to really bad by the end of 10.2. Hopefully The War Within can improve the story.

They made legendary dragons lame and there weren’t really any cool moments. We need to start getting cinematics like Rejection of the Gift in-game again. Today’s Alleria video was pretty cool

I dont think that highly of it myself.

It came out the gate strong with a lot of potential but it threw it all away.

10.1 was the worst ive ever seen wow.
And 10.2 was just boring

Its like a 3/10. 4/10 tops.

All the raids were boring. All the dungeons were either boring or horribly grueling. The only reason I played Evoker was because I got to be a scalie, not because the class felt great- far from it.
The writing took the game to new lows of bad. Story-wise, worse than Shadowlands? Not nearly. Character-writing? Absolutely worse than Shadowlands. Whew… they ruined Wrathion pretty hard (not talking about the aspect stuff, literally just his character itself).

Overall, it felt the same gameplay-wise as Shadowlands except there was no anima grind. Writing-wise, slightly worse than Shadowlands.
Lock in, TWW bros, the writing gets even more stupid and childish in TWW, having played the beta.
I’m going to have the popcorn out for the upcoming awful cutscenes that tie-in to the already astoundingly stupid writing.
