Unreal Engine 4 WoW 2 9.0 for 2020 Fall launch.
The extreme graphic setting we have now will be WoW 2 barebone graphic setting equivalent for troubleshooting purposes. No more bad computers holding everyone else back. Time to move forward.

You do realize making it less accessible just to appease the graphics obsessed crowd would alienate a HUGE margin from playing and make the game die right? Not everyone’s a privileged nonce that can shell out over $2000 for a custom gaming rig [and some who do make decent money prioritize more important things such as food,mortgage,bills,etc.] WoW is as successful as it is as it’s not only a cheap means of entertainment but can work on older machines without too many problems so anyone who wants to try it can. It’s successful as its engine still works pretty well after nearly 15 years so far and while the latest and greatest can be neat at times,it isn’t always needed. Also,last I checked nobody elected you as the ambassador of what people want so I’m pretty sure you don’t speak for everybody. o.O

Your describing vanilla wow in 2005, you have any idea how many graphics cards thos game sold back then?
If its good people will upgrade, though im sure most could run a wow2 unreal4 right now given how dated the games graphics are

And you do realize how much graphics cards are these days,yes? Crypto currency miners caused a mass inflation in price to where they cost almost as much as a common home PC [nearly 500 bucks last I checked] Not to mention people may penny pinch more these days given the old dunces who run the country currently are pushing us into another recession.

Oh, that sounds like such a good idea. Eliminate all but the people playing on the most up-to-date hardware. Slam the door in the face of a big segment of the playerbase. This game thrived and survived this long in part because you can play it on a potato. Are you trying to kill WoW?
Never mind the question of “what the people want”. At least be honest and admit it’s just what you want.

Right but your not understanding this game wasnt potato compatable when it launched, nor when it grew through vanilla.
It became potato viable, but even then its extremely inefficient due to its age, a modern engine will run it better than currently

Ew, no. I don’t want WoW to look realistic. I think the current day graphics from MoP to now are gorgeous, and they get better with each expansion. I don’t want WoW to look like every other fantasy MMORPG out there that focus on pushing hyper realism. I like stylized graphics because it stands out in a world where hyper realism is king.

They’re not going to do this, any more than they’re ever going to make another MMO, and they’re certainly not going to do it to satisfy the minority of the playerbase that’s obsessed with up to date graphics. If you must have graphics so sharp you feel you could cut yourself on them, there are many games out there that have them.
Leave WoW alone.
