Fresh is coming, but you have the current servers to play on. It’s not an investment. It’s a game. Do you actually enjoy playing the game, or do you worry about fomo? You have a bit of time till the new fresh servers open. Don’t worry about it, till it comes, and enjoy what you have in front of you. You’re not wasting anything, if you’re having fun. Once again, this is a game; not an investment. At some point you will stop playing the game forever, and none of your characters will matter.

It’s a time INVESTMENT. I put a lot of time into something i like and enjoy. It is indeed a time investment.
Yes, eventually i will die in RL and none of my characters will matter. But, it’s frustrating that Blizzard fails to listen to the already niche community that has been calling for server MERGES due to dwindling population numbers when the “hype” dies and instead, makes the problem even worse by adding more servers and splitting the already small niche community even further.
It’s basic human nature, to want something you enjoy, and invest a lot of your time into to thrive and be the best it can be.

So, honest question here, why not just enjoy the current servers we have until the fresh comes out? There’s plenty to do, while waiting till the fresh comes out. Or just take a break for a week?
So here is the thing. Im not worried about the short term effect on HC another server will have. Im worried about the long term effects. We all know fresh servers will be lit… for like 2 months. The tourist will come, and they will leave. (It happened once, it will happen again.) When they leave, they leave the true, dedicated hc community struggling.
HC isn’t like classic normal versions. HC is extremely community driven. When the tourist leave, it makes it hard to just “restart and go again” because you don’t have the same population to do the more risky content with that you did before. (Dungeons, caves, group quests, risky escort quests, etc) So because you don’t have the population to do said content, you have to skip a lot of it.
Because of this, the true dedicated HC community has been calling for the 2 servers we have now, to be merged into 1. To help balance things out. Now, Blizzard wants to throw a 3rd hc server in the picture? So in 5 months you wont have an already small and niche community spread out on 2 servers, but instead on 3.
It’s literally a slap in the face to the dedicated hc playerbase.

I think it will help the HC community, after the streamers move on to the next thing. I think of it as sort of a containment server. I believe it’ll (after the “fresh” hype is gone) make it more popular.
Can you explain the logic behind thinking it will help the community that was already struggling with 2 servers? I’m honestly just curious. Like, do you think the majority of dedicated hc players will move to the new and stick with that server?
It’ll cause a resurgence, I believe. People will flood for the first few weeks. As per normal. It’s always fun to be involved in the hype phase. And once people start getting back to where the server is no longer fresh, they’ll most likely come back home to Defias. Similar to how people flocked to Whitemane. Streamer servers don’t have the best… reputation.
people are more upset about the servers literally offering nothing new and at the same time ruining another server. Why dont the streamers just roll on a current server it still would attract those who want to play with their favorite streamers

the smaller HC community of skull rock is 1000x better than defias pillager that has a larger player base (to me)
I’m on Defias for HC.
I think the difference is that the new servers are going up to Burning Crusade and the current HC servers are are just staying where there are in Classic. I hope.
Not that I think I can ever get a character up to Burning Crusade level in HC, I’m not that good. Death usually gets the better of me. But, it would be interesting to start HC in Burning Crusade.
I wonder if there will be another drop down for the anniversary classic on the launcher, or do you think they are going to progress our current servers to Burning Crusade to match with the new servers?
Just a few thoughts.
I really hope it’s the “fresh” hc server going to be progressive, not defias. I don’t want to play HC outside of era.
