Enhancment essences and traits

I’m trying to figure out what essences and traits I should look for on my shaman.

Right now for essences I’m running:
Worldvein Rank 2
Crucible Rank 3
Focusing Iris Rank 2

with my traits being
Natural Harmony x2
Roiling Storm x1
Ancestral Resonance x1
Thunderaan’s Fury x1

Any help with my shaman would be welcome. (Rustyus - Moon Guard. Mag’har)

You have a pretty good spread of traits there. Try to get a third natural harmony without giving up thunderaan’s fury.

Blood of the enemy & conflict and strife are both top tier. Give them a try?

If I had to give up a trait which one would be alright with being given up? Ancestral Resonance or Roiling Storm?

I have Blood of the Enemy rank 3 so I’ll give that one a shot next time I’m out doing content.

3x natural harmony
1x T. fury
1x rolling storm
1x ancestral resonance

at least one overwhelming power, the more of those the better
longstrider, pack spirit, and serene spirit and almost all the others are quite helpful

major - worldvein
minor - essence, blood, breath

or on the higher end

major - blood
minor - breath, conflictStrife, essence

“zahruk” us armory
“elbroiblo” eu armory

EDIT - we all have different stuff available to us, so until any of us found top stuff we all basically have to make do with what we have. without proper setups enh shaman is pretty clunky, very much so. there are a few key things that “make it go”, and the big one is anything that gets your haste up. later on, when haste is good with better and top gear, it’s more about getting crit up. worldvein isn’t sexy but, that’s what sims best for me in raid. when I had early gear I would pick the shield and heal-on-kill and heal-on-damage azurites, but now with better gear I can use the utility ones. the raidbots website is very helpful.

also, on essences, when leveling up and getting stuff some things don’t match endgame. the memory essence from nazjatar was hugely useful for a while because until I had enough haste and crit I was always short on maelstrom.

As you get higher ilevel azurite pieces, probably put which trait you have as an afterthought. Then try to get the right ones.

If you absolutely have to choose for the short term as you try to get more gear, give up Ancestral Resonance. The first Roiling storm you get is very powerful.

Is there a piece of armor that actually has Natural Harmony and Th. Fury on different rings? I’ve seen plenty that have NH and Roiling Storm. or NH and Ancestral Resonance, but it seems like every piece that has Th. Fury also has NH on the same ring.

Yeah, this guy’s helm has that.

Only in raids. T. Fury and nat Harmony don’t exist on separate rings on a single piece of M+ gear.

Probably an oversight from Blizz but there’s no way they are changing it now.

With first one being the major, I use:

Single Target:
Condensed Life Force
Blood of the enemy
Lucid dreams (with Fury of air)
Breath of dying

Visions:
Blood of the enemy
Breath of dying
Purification protocol
Focusing Iris

M+: same as visions but I use strife minor over iris. If tyrannical you could drop protocol for strife instead depending on your comp.

BG/Arena:
Breath of dying
Conflict strife
Lucid dreams(with FoA)
Fofusing Iris (this slot you can play around with lifeforce/flame/formless void minors)

If you face kidney shot in arena, switch to conflict major and breath minor. If you play sundering, never use lucid dreams.

I’ve found success in a bunch of different builds but I think my favorite has been blood of the enemy right before sundering. You get a sundering every other blood of the enemy so it lines up well and you’ll really notice the damage spike on trash mobs.

Take Elemental Spirits and Sundering

Maj
Blood of the enemy
Min
Vision of Perfection
Breath of the dying
Focusing Iris

Get those wolves up, pop blood of the enemy and then sundering. It’ll be huge especially if you get some flame wolves to proc. Other than that I usually run frostbrand with the hope for natural harmony but I’ve been unlucky with that so far and only have 1. With the frequent wolves I usually get pretty consistent boss damage and really good aoe damage.
