Keep the brain-off-drooling-on-keyboard S2 storm nonsense dead.
S3 forever.
Edit to reply to hot-air takes:
Weak argument. Mindless spam of one ability while ignoring all other resources is not “feel good” gameplay. You also don’t have to run the talent for fs amp dam if you don’t want to for a loss that is negligible if you weren’t playing the amp dam talent right in the first place.
Once again, terrible design ignoring all resources to drool and mindlessly spam one button.
God forbid every spec in the game isn’t a single button classic rotation, how else will these casuals survive?
I loved this whole block of text, nice lol
Sweeping talent changes are likely not on the menu, so this is a null point.

Updated talent tree with s1 bonus for a nasty storm build could be fun. And im a big elementalist fan.

Could rant about the button bloat for hours, but thats not going to change soon. Thus whole thread is discussing which playstyle should be supported.

Don’t take away the button bloat. Having a ton of buttons is what makes enh fun compared to dh. You want less buttons? Go play that.

Is it button bloat though? For the core rotation of Elementalist, you have 4 maelstrom builders, 3 maelstrom spenders one of which you never press in single target, 2 CDs (Pwave and Wolves), and Crash Lightning which is never taken in single target either. In a single target fight you are hitting 8 buttons for your rotation…is that button bloat? I feel like people who complain about button bloat on this spec just have terrible keybinds.

Why make a main cooldown have high cdr? Just play outlaw rogue
So let me get this straight…you complain about button bloat but are suggesting playing a class that has 3 times the CPM and is way more punishing about how you press your buttons?
Its almost like there is a pretty lenghty difference bwteen one and the other and suggesting doesnt mean it has to go that far
It doesn’t work like that. My suggestion was applicable because you’re trying to change the spec. Go play something else if you don’t like enh having a lot of buttons.
Asking for -1 button like pwave or something is asking for a rework apparently

Right which is why your “play outlaw” suggestion is kinda misconstrued given that
A: Storm is also built on CDR as well, quad wolves window thanks to DRE procs is a massive increase in damage.
B: Elementalist has an emphasis on CDR yes but a big draw to the spec is the funnel/cleave component which is fun and satisfying to play around in cleave fights and M+ even if you’re not playing Lashing Flames for the Legacy of the Frost Witch to avoid tab targeting since Ashen Catalyst helps funnel Lava Lash damage.
As a PvPer, Storm Build felt way more rewarding. Taking Converging Storms also made the sustained damage feel nice. Idk, been doing Elementalist all season 3 and it doesn’t feel as impactful. I definitely wouldn’t mind more variation with the Storm build (although I don’t get the button-mashing argument, LL is literally button-mashing) but overall it was more fun

Well even with Hot Hands you’re not slamming LL every GCD but weaving GCDs in between each LL. I haven’t PvP’d so I don’t know how the builds translate to PvP.
Season 2 is the best guys dont trolling, season 3 lose much aoe dps if the mob you put “flame shock” is stuned far the pull or die before you use “Lava Lash” and you depending much to “Primordial Wave” to make good AoE Damage, Storm in season 2 is the best…
Given the heavy impact and positive gameplay loops surrounding pwave such as its ability to make us one of if not the best funnel spec in addition to strong cleave, yeah I’d say you’re pretty much suggesting gimping the spec.
Go play something else.

mindlessly spamming SS while ignoring every other resource is indeed button-mashing, these kids that enjoy it should drool harder.
Elementalist is the furthest thing from mashing, I don’t even know how you got to that conclusion.
If you’re referencing APM, then sure every (melee) spec in the game is a button masher, but that has nothing to do with this.

“But its mechanically important”
Thematics first, aesthetics then serve that, mechanics are last
???
I am ecstatic that you aren’t in charge of anything after reading this terrible line.
Good luck on your quest to ruin specs because you don’t like the “theme” lmao
I’ll add on that people who don’t understand the value of pwave really just don’t understand enhancement at all either.

No one cares that its powerful, if they made it red and blue id be less inclined to dislike it
While I’m enjoying watching you destroy any ground you had to stand on here, you’ll be delighted to know that they are changing it’s color.
