Hi everyone!
I am loving Dragonflight so far! One thing I am struggling with (and have received feedback from other players in game about) is my overall DPS in M+.
I do “okay” from M0-M+4, but around M+5 is when it really becomes apparent that I am no bueno. I have looked at guides, I have DBM and Details add on.
My personal goal is to at least get the M+ Title for this season and maybe at least do a M+15 once (never done one before).
Can someone take a look at my talents/gear and tell me if I am missing something?
I appreciate in advance anyone who reads this. Thank you!
Those are some great goals. I had the same at the start of Shadowlands and I ended up getting KSM each season and even timing 20s by season 4. Dungeon goals are a lot of fun.
Tragically I can’t view your profile for error reasons, so it’s hard to give advice, besides recommending getting Alpha Wolf talent, ensuring you have Feral Spirits on cool down in dungeons, and utilizing chain lightning and crash lightning as much as cool downs/maelstrom weapon will allow when you have your dogs out (I enjoy overflowing maelstrom with it).
Also, I typically enjoy the right side of the talent tree with that, using lots of lava lashes to spread your dot. I believe you’ll mostly want haste and mastery, but a more experienced Enh. Shaman could say better. Definitely check out the Shaman forums too; those folks are super knowledgeable!

well thats ez.
spy on the top dogs on raiderio
go on raider io, click the mythic+ tab, check the top team that has an enh shaman, click his name and copy away
youre in luck the very first team has an enh shaman
- keep looking from week to week youll notice some talents might change depending on the week’s affixes.

You’ve got some good goals but I can’t see your talent setup or gear
What are your stats?
What kind of build are you running?
Which dungeons are you struggling with? What is it about a +5 that is difficult for you?
Sure! As was mentioned, take a look at raider io and look at the top 10 or so Enh Shamans. See their common talents and try them out. Your talents at a quick glance do seem different. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s a matter of getting comfortable.
Gear also plays a huge part in doing well in dps as well as stat optimization. I’m not sure what Enh Shaman stat priority is but for instance mine is Crit/Mastery. In the begining of gearing though you’ll always want to take the bigger ilvl upgrade as your primary stat is always better than your secondaries.
If you’re not comfortable in 5+ or higher, keep doing 2-4 keys and getting your rotation down. Get used to using your cooldowns at specific times during trash and making sure that they’re back up for the boss. Best way to do that is to run all of them multiple times, even if it isn’t a rating increase. The last 2 weeks I’ve been running Court of Stars to help my healer friend get her trinket. We’ve done it over 30 times lol. But we’ve gotten so good at the dungeon we’re fairly certain it will be our first 20+.
You will get there. I was running 20 and 21s in Shadowlands on the worst spec in the game at the time, Assassin. It feels so weird to struggle to get to 15s. I’ve stopped caring about that for now since Valor cap is a bit of a hold back. That’s why I’m okay doing level 4-9 keys even though I can do 10+ easily. I’m just having fun and I know I’ll be back doing 20’s eventually.
The season is new. We have a few months until S2. Try out some new talents as used by the top ones. Get used to it, and your cooldowns. Run those lower dungeons for more gear and start to work towards getting your best in slots from M+. You’ll be there before you know it.
Your talents are a little all over the place in regards to whats generally considered the best Enh builds.
You’ve taken some Windfury / Physical talents and some Fire / Elemental talents without specing hard into either and missing the +2 Target / +40% damage Chain lightning which is where you’re probably losing quite a bit of damage due to lack of synergy.
If you haven’t already I’d check out the WoW Head enhancement guide, Wordup is a really good Enh player and I’ve found his guides really useful.
Fire / Elemental M+

Generally the better one starting out as the Physical build relies a little more on Auto / Windfury which gets better as you get more Haste. It lends more into Mastery for damage

Shorter CD bursts with Doom Winds with either short Random (Deeply Rooted Elements) or Long controlled (Ascendance) and a greater emphasis on Stormstrike usage, this is the one that I thought your current build fists closest to in regards to how it plays. You do lose out on the Flame Shock spread and Primordial Wave but Primordial doesn’t really do a lot if you don’t pick up the other talents with it
Regardless of which one you use, Wolves should always be on Cooldown
I assume your using talent loadout 2(elemental build). If you look at warcraft logs you’ll notice the top Enh shamans all doing a lot of frost shock damage, which is different from the normal recommended spec on say WoWhead or Icey. You’ll want to grab Splintered elements and drop Elemental Blast, pick up Ice strike and Hailstorm. Basic idea is use Lava Lash to spread flame shock, if hot hands procs you use lava lash on as many targets as possible to boost flame shock damage. Primordial wave+lightning bolt on cooldown if flame shock is already spread. As soon as your maelstrom caps out you need to use it asap so you don’t waste stacks(don’t forget about lava burst for single target!). Ice strike(if up) and then Frost Shock after using a spender. Sundering on Cooldown as long as mobs are grouped. Crash lightning and lava lash to fill. Storm strike is basically your I have no other button to press last resort, it’s low damage and does not really help the spec. Obviously keep Feral Spirit up as much as possible. Honestly, one of the key things to max out overall damage is just not holding cooldowns. Keeping sundering/Feral Spirit just in case is a lot of damage lost.
If you use this build then frost shock will be a major part of your damage. The other biggies will be Maelstrom spenders(Lightning bolt, Lava bursts, Chain lightning), Lava Lash, Flame Shock Dot, and lastly crash lightning. It’s a little complicated since there are a few things that depend on other things but once you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy.
