Incase anyone is wondering.

  • Enhancement
    • New Talent: Voltaic Blaze – Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning has a 18% chance to make your next Flame Shock become Voltaic Blaze. Voltaic Blaze instantly shocks the target and 5 nearby enemies with blazing thunder, causing Nature damage and applying Flame Shock. Generates 1 stack of Maelstrom Weapon.

    • New Talent: Unrelenting Storm – When Crash Lightning hits only 1 target, it activates Windfury Weapon and its cooldown is reduced by 40%. Choice node with Converging Storms.

    • Stormblast has been updated – Stormstrike has an additional charge. Stormsurge now also causes your next Stormstrike to deal 25% additional damage as Nature damage, stacking up to 2 times.

    • Stormblast’s additional Nature damage now functions for both Main-hand and Off-hand attacks.

    • Arc Lightning has been updated – Tempest causes your next Chain Lightning or Lightning Bolt to be instant cast, deal 40% increased damage, and cast an additional time.

    • Thorim’s Invocation has been slightly adjusted – If Thorim’s Invocation is slated to use Chain Lightning, it will no longer cast a 5-stack tempest as a replacement of Chain Lightning when using Windstrike.

    • Thorim’s Invocation’s old effect has been added back – 20% increased Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning damage.

    • Deeply Rooted Elements now activates from Tempest, Lightning Bolt, or Chain Lightning.

    • The damage effect of Doom Winds is no longer considered a melee weapon attack and does not generate Maelstrom Weapon or trigger Flametongue Weapon.

    • An issue causing Primal Maelstrom to still grant 5/10 tacks Maelstrom Weapon instead of 3/5 has been resolved.

    • Ice Strike is now a choice node between a new ranged version and the existing melee version.

    • Ice Strike no longer highlights Frost Shock on the action bars.

    • Ice Strikes’ Frost Shock buff is now on personal resource display.

    • Lightning Spark has been removed.

    • Stormbringer

      • Fixed several issues with interactions between Tempest and other specialization talents.

Interesting. And for all the DOOOOOOM sayers, as it was said, just the beginning of the PTR changes. I am actually happy they are paying attention to us now.

WTB Totemic changes. Like choice node for targeting the surging totem like earthquake.

The change on Deeply Rooted Elements should have happened very long ago and SS spam playstyle is toxic. I am glad that they changed that.

They made some changes to Totemic but they don’t address the main issues. Totem mechanics on melee specs are pain and surging totem ticks every 6 seconds (which can be reduced via haste) which makes it very easy to miss the tick. Totemic is awful in a new raid because bosses have a lot of movement and babysit your totem.

Just tested this changes in PTR and there is no way we see this on live lmao, it is too overpowered. If they tune it correctly, the next patch is going to be even more fun.

Testing this on PTR is so so much fun. Which is exactly how I know it won’t go to live like this. I was able to get a 1 minute uptime on Deep Roots, had like 10 Storm Wolves out, and was just slamming Stormstrike and Tempest procs.

Also tested on PTR ,

Voltaic Blaze Feel awesome , give a decent ability that hit hard after the uses of tempest so for PvP its great after spending we now have Voltaic Blaze and Frost shock that hit hard in the burst window.

The possibility of Ice Strike to remains the same thank you i don’t like the proc personally.

2 charges on Stromstrike is really nice but im still unsure to use it because stormstrike STILL deal physical damage and its our lowest damage ability still in PvP and even with the 60% buff lol.

Deeply rooted elements is nice for PvE good changes , but for PvP id rather uses Ascendance 2 minutes CD and pop it when its needed in the match. To me having ascendance on 2min CD is the best changes so far on the PTR.

Flowing Spirits is nice but even with the nerf on Witch Doctor Ancestry i still prefer Witch Doctor Ancestry because of 4% chance to generate maelstrom meaning more tempest ! and the wolf last 15 seconds not 8.

The new doom wind is nice finally a buff that can cast when we want , i would just increase the duration to 10 seconds !

Overall players that want less key binds can uses the new ice strike , flowing spirit and deeply rooted elements to have 3 less button to key bind.

What would be nice is that while the totem is up and if you move out of the totem AOE range, that the next Stormstrike or Laval Lash would move the totem to your new location.

I played Totemic in our raid, and for the two bosses that charge, yeah it was a pain. For second boss it worked out well because I was still doing damage even when I had to run around with the dot on me.

Like where these new changes are going. It seems we will have some new playstyles from this. Have not had a chance to test yet, hopefully today, but between pvp on my rogue, and raiding M+ and delves, not a lot of time.

This is exciting. I can’t wait to try it.

I hate everything here but the change to keeping Ice Strike on a choice node. The addition of these AoE nature damage Flame Shock appliers in particular is signalling to me that they’re adding it as an alternative to going down Molten Assault for Flame Shock spread, which means reducing Lava Lash to just a MSW generator.

This feels like they’re rebuilding the Enhancement tree around Stormbringer as the new focus of the spec, and pushing toward a build where literally the only thing an Enhancement shaman cares about is pressing Tempest/Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning, and everything else is reduced to just a different MSW generator that has no bearing on anything else in your rotation.

Every day Stormbringer feels more and more like everything I hated about Storm build in DF. Damage profile at the mercy of RNG, reduction of the kit to one button that matters and a dozen fillers, and inescapable Ascension transformations.

I’m super happy they took our feedback and kept the ice strike!

Thank you, Blizz!

Im so glad they decided to make the DRE change. I feel like the community has been asking for this for a while. My only note is that now that DRE triggers off a ranged attack the “melee” proc dmg seems less reliable.

Voltaic Blaze sounds cool. LB, big hailstorm, big fire shock sounds like a fun combo. Hoping for a cool animation.

I like the idea of Unrelenting storm giving crash more single target value but the “if hits 1 target” condition makes me a bit hesitant. If it was “crash lightning only hits 1 enemy” I think it would work a lot better. And maybe make the animation a bit bigger then I’m 100% in

Stormblast definitely needed a buff. It’s so low value rn in my opinion it’s not worth taking even in a storm build. 2 charges of SS will certainly be helpful but it has pretty fast diminution value with all the storm strikes price we already get. And the stacking buff seems a little counter intuitive with not wanting to hit SS with a proc immediately but again I think we get so many SS procs that it will have decent value. Overall, I think it brings the stormblast talent in line with the value of other talents and it’s a good change.

Good to see we’re not getting a 20% nerf to our LB/CL

And I’m really glad they listened to the community about the ice strike changes. Not totally sold on the procced version but totally willing to try it and glad we have the option now. Good compromise Blizzard

More DRE pocs == more dopamine spikes!
Lets goooo!

Man…… I’ve maimed enh before, only to have the worse time playing this game (for PvP) and this time around, things look diff so I gave it a try. Needles to say, there is a nagging feeling of “I made another mistake, blizzard won’t support this spec in PvP and you wasted your time again”

I’m so happy I’m having fun and that they are changing stuff, best feeling ever when it comes to choosing to main enh shaman.

Queen Ansurek is completely impossible to play Totemic because she is moving around every 5-10 seconds and surging totem damage every 6 seconds. Totemic Projection won’t even be enough for Queen Ansurek. The bosses in a new raid have a lot of movement already.

The patch note shows that Blizzard understands the problems of Stormbringer but they don’t know how to fix the Totemic’s main issues

I agree, we will being trying the Queen tonight, our last raid, we just pulled to see some of the fight. I am hoping they decided to tackle Stormstrike first, and is still in the lab cooking for Totemic.
