The last round of changes did very little to target the actual issues with physical enhancement
Ascendance still does WAY too much and you spend a lot of the game either waiting for a proc to randomly win or playing around outright winning through walls with on-use

The nerf to forceful winds (75% effective in PvP) and the nerf to wolves (33% effective in PvP)
SEEMED to be targeting the insane burst in this window by attacking 2 of the specs greatest modifiers which makes complete sense on paper if you’ve never actually played the spec
BUT they then buffed windstrike by 25%?? which. while ignoring thorims??? (thorims being the primary issue)

All they really accomplished was increasing ascendances threat to last the entire 15 seconds up from only being significantly meaningfully impactful for the first 5
Nerf windstrike exclusively (not stormstrike) by over 25%.
Change the way ascendance interacts with armor in PvP scenarios. (currently ignores it)
Nerf the lightning bolt associated with thorims fired off gcd during ascendance. (not lightning bolt baseline)
REMOVE the forceful winds template nerf (25% buff to current)
Change physical wolves damage buff to 10%/10% (5%/5% current)
BUFF base lightning bolt damage by 10%
NOBODY enjoys getting absolutely throttled by some complete idiot with 40 yard range doing 100k dps (which is why nobody enjoys playing against retribution but that’s another thread)
& NO enhancement shaman enjoys so much of their meaningful power being tied to a COMPLETE RNG proc OR stuffed into a 3 minute on use
Here’s an example pressing ascendance off mount, not interacting with any of the game, then killing through 2 damage mitigation cooldowns vs 2 dps players i’d consider pretty good (though the gate wasn’t good)
Irrelevant to the issues with ascendance but additionally, “ride the lightning” as a talent feels really bad.
it really feels like enhancement damage is tuned around getting value out of ride the lightning forcing you not only lose an honor talent slot to a passive that effects your damage to an extreme degree, but it also feels like the spec is entirely undertuned in scenarios that you get little to no ride value (single target)
really wish they’re remove it and tune the spec accordingly evening out our free matchups and our bad matchups
It’s a 3min cd with PI, doomwinds, lust, and whatever other mods you have going on. Somehow these “good” players don’t have any stuns or coils on their bars, and don’t know how to react to 4 different cooldowns at once. Ascend is literally the longest dps cd in pvp and should do giga damage with 45% additional haste + on use effects + 4p tier proc + other shenanigans.
??? What logic are you using lol. Ret was unkillable and did 300k global with a 1 minute cd. We’re talking about a 3 min cd stacked on top of a 2min cd stacked on top of a 1.5min cd stacked on top of a 1min cd stacked on a 45s cd stacked on on use trinkets. Like in what world are those comparable.
idc what cds they are, you shouldnt ever get deleted like that, if u genuinely think its fine then ur probably some weirdo whos boosted by the absurdity of ascendance rn
