I’ve been dabbling with Enh Shaman lately. Seen a few different guides and opinions on rotations. I’ve seen a few that say for starters you want your MH and OH to have wind fury weapon over Wf/FT. Is that true?
Then also saw some opinions that said that a shaman should never use flame shock over earth shock. Because the dot for flame shock doesn’t add up to spamming earth shock.
Thoughts on this? What is your rotation?
As an Enh sham myself at 50 in SoD, I don’t use Earth Shock unless I’m interrupting.
My rotation is (Light Shield, WF/WF on weps that are 2.70 speed or slower) as prep. Then I go Stormstrike > Lava Lash > heal when needed (maelstrom weapon ftw), and basically just repeat.
Always have Str. of Earth up at least for that extra 40 strength. Use shamanistic rage when low on mana or if something is hitting too hard.
Runes to use (for me anyway):
Mental Dexterity
Dual Wield Specialization
Lava Lash
Maelstrom Weapon
Static Shock
Shamanistic Rage
It’s not a tough rotation though.
Edit: If you want to use Flametongue Weapon, I advise using it on weapons with a speed of 2.20 or faster. FT loves fast weps.
If you’re in a party/raid, the use of totems depends on your group comp. If it’s melee, I go with Str. of Earth and Windfury Totem. If it’s hunters and rogues, I go with Grace of Air, but with Warrs I just use WFT
I’ve been using WF/FT. Do individual weapons not share the internal cd for WF proc? That would be the main problem I see with double WF
Interesting. I’ve always used flame shock, then next global used earth shock, then rotate. I assumed that was the normal rotation. Thanks for the info. I have been told by multiple to use WF/WF imbue’s so I’ll switch to that as well.
The sole reasons why I don’t have shocks in my rotation is mainly the mana cost. I know there’s a talent to reduce it, but with static shock, I used them for “ILS” in the enh tree. To each their own though.
