Blizz pls just a crumb of mobility and survivability
For mobility- Add a baseline learned talent “Improved Feral Lunge: Feral Lunge cooldown reduced by 15 seconds and grants you immunity to all movement impairing effects when you land on your target for x seconds (2 or 3)”. Could also just give immunity to roots/slows instead of all movement impairing effects so it doesnt effect pve mechanics ie raszageth too much.
That right there would almost immediately fix enhancement shamans mobility issues in pvp without impacting pve too much. It would allow them to better handle mechanics like raszageth blowback but that should be fine. It would make it so we arent able to immediately get slowed/rooted/knocked as soon as we get to our target, and would give us more uses of feral lunge overall which we really need right now. The amount of insane mobility some classes have along with the introduction of more passive roots and slows has made playing less mobile melee pretty awful in terms of enjoyment when you face those classes. Its okay to have weaknesses, but there needs to be a line drawn with just how weak this weakness is lol.
For survivability, I won’t ask for too much but without AG we definitely feel very weak defensively. With how high damage is, stone bulwark gets eaten through immediately, 40% wall feels like blocking yourself with paper, and Earth ele is decent but again on a very long CD like stone bulwark.
Give passive physical DR to Earth Shield only for the Shaman. Numbers can be different between pve and pvp. “Earth Shield grants the Shaman x% physical damage reduction (Ideally 5% for enhance, maybe 2% for ele/resto).” This would make it so reapplying Earth Shield has more value for enhance as right now it doesn’t feel great, its healing is minimal and its gets purged/stolen so easily. Next I’d ask for Earth Ele to do something extra, like give an absorb shield when summoned considering its a 5 min cd.
I’m all for improving feral lunge but I feel like the least complicated, low effort move would to just make spirit walk or windrush true freedoms. Also, whenever the cdr talent for spirit walk and gust of wind got removed they baked it into gust of wind but not spirit walk. It should be a 45s cd.
I’ve always wanted some like reverse legacy of the frost witch that was earth themed and would refresh some of ur earth shield and give u some dr. Something like
“Spending maelstrom on heals/stormweaver refreshes 3 charges of earth shield and grants u damage reduction based on how many stacks spent”
give us a reason to want to use our heals. I feel like we went from having a strong hybrid identity to a lot of enh shamans feeling like trying to heal is a waste.
Earth ele is an interesting one. It’s such a low value spell for a 5 min cd. Would be cool if it actually did something worthy of a 5 min cd. Orrr like I’ve always said, it would be a good spot for burrow in the class tree. I have dropped healing stream for earth ele and the 5% dr talent but that just goes to show how bad healing stream is.
Honestly, I’d take thunderous paws breaking roots ATP.
I’m always gonna advocate for enhance to have a +10 yrd range on melee abilities because our kit is shared with a ranged DPS and a Healer who don’t face the same plights as a melee DPS.
I would absolutely kill for that. It especially felt bad when classes like rouge, ret, feral had ranged melee in df but enh, the spec that originally had ranged melee with rockbiter and whatever way back when, didn’t. But, they mostly removed that from the game and I doubt they’d go back on that direction.
Would be sick if doomwinds gave a couple wind strikes though or something
Yeah, maybe like after summoning feral spirits, your melee abilites are given a 10 yrd range for ~6 seconds.
Part of the reason Stormbringer feel so much better than Totemic (Other than the fantasy and lack of bloat), is that in PvP you have more range and mobility. Totemic is tuned higher currently and is more effective so I’m more incentivized to play that, and I feel like I can barely connect to targets at times.
I’ve thought about attaching something like that to doomwinds, but the reality is any time you face disarm that range increase would just go to waste, and disarm lines up with it perfectly so I think if we wanted a range increase it’d have to be from somewhere else so it isn’t useless whenever we face disarm.
But also I dont think a range increase is a good solution, I don’t think 10 yard range would actually improve much of our current situation. We need root/snare immunity
I dont think that is the easiest way because that also effects ele and resto who don’t really have mobility issues. I was avoiding spirit walk/gust of wind because updating those would effect the other 2 specs whereas Feral Lunge is something unique to Enh, so they can do whatever they want to it without impacting the other 2 specs.
Adding a baseline talent that reduces Feral Lunge cd by 15s and adds root/slow immunity for 3 seconds when you land would solve Enh mobility issues almost entirely without effecting resto/ele. We get Feral Lunge 4x a minute instead of 2x, and we get root/snare immunity for 3 sec as soon as we get to our target so we can maintain uptime before being re rooted/slowed.
Idk who’s disarming u on cd lol but I feel like I haven’t had as much problem with disarms as u lol. I’ve had more unsuccessful doomwinds goes bc im just kited and waddling rather than being disarmed.
I think being cced on our goes happens a lot and it is frustrating but it is just good counter play and idk if we really need a specific disarm immunity or anything. Even in a disarm we still have a lot of buttons we can press (u can use pstorm in a disarm, idk if u get the windfury procs though)
I dont want disarm immunity, I want mobility but in the form of an improved gap closer, and then we can get snare/slow immunity baked into it as well. I dont think we need a counter to disarm at all, its just counter play to our go, same with cc, however I dont believe mobility should be a third way to counter our go lol.
And in shuffle I am at 2400ish mmr which is where a lot of r1s/mglads are at, any melee with a disarm hits me with it the second I pop doom winds, but that isn’t really an issue because again its just counterplay, I care far more about getting kited by 90% of the classes in the game.
Also, you can use pstorm in disarm but it does not do any of the physical damage. You get no windfury procs and it only does the elemental portion of the damage not the physical portion, so it doesnt really do much of anything but yea at least it can be used lol.
Also, something else I want: Stormstrike to do damage. I’m not sure if this was an oversight or not (probably) but at the beginning of PTR Stormstrike/Lava Lash/Ice Strike got buffed by 100% but it did not apply to PvP, and then at the end of PTR Stormstrike got nerfed by 50% and it did apply to PvP, so Stormstrike randomly got hit with a 50% nerf in pvp due to pve tuning mao. In PvE it was still buffed by 50%. It does literally no damage in pvp, feels great in pve though.
