Enhance oom

if you arent gonna give us more defensives, at least make MW stacks reduce our mana cost for heals please. i shouldn’t go oom after 4 heals.

I have found that in AoE situations (PvE speaking here), with Bloodlust going, and other haste procs going, I can go oom from casting Crash Lightning too much.

its ridiculous. no one else has to deal with going oom as mele dps. they need to double if not triple our mana pool or reduce our mana cost/spending by like 60%

As far as the ooming during Lust, for PvE, they could change how the scaling works on the natural mana regen with haste. Currently, haste scales faster than mana regen does.

As far as 4 heals and then oom. it would need to be an Enhance-specific fix to not have issues with Ele or Resto. MSW seems the perfect fit. The spec is mana-based now. So making them free I think is a little OP, especially with how potent those heals are, fully buffed. But a cost reduction of some sort is in order. 5% per stack used perhaps?

Of i only cast a heal with 5 stacks i have yetbto go oom. I have gone oom when trying to help keep a group up with just straight casting. If blizz makes heals use less mana then the trade off will be a less potent heal. I kinda like knowing i can heal myself from 25% to full.

Literally no caster does, either, except Arcane.

Mages tapping themselves regen more mana in the GCD that caused it than any of their damage spells cost.

Both of their heals are much less powerful. Feral with a clearcast proc is not healing for 75 % of their health, i am with earthshield on. Rets habe to cast and i can interupt that, noone is interupt my 5 mw heal.

WoG is most definitely not
regrowth is lower, but it’s not significantly less so and it’s more frequent and doesn’t run into their other dps skills nor their utility, and doesn’t oom them
on a 1:1 basis, in a vacuum, sure, grats u got it

what kinda rets do you queue into that are hardcasting and not using WoG?

I went oom a couple of times in Nathria last night during bloodlust. Not even healing, just my regular priority rotation.

didnt the equal to MW stacks in Cataclysm make spells basically free? I seem to remember back then as a raiding Enh shaman that using my stacks made the heal free, any heal even. Id sometimes drop healing rain to help everyone in melee range and it cost no mana if I remember right.

One stack use to reduce the cost by 20%, five stacks made it free.

what your asking for would completly make enhance healing OP in PVP, right now its powerful but you are limited by mana pool.

Enhance healing with maelstorm is really powerful, regrowth is much weaker and does not get the up to 100% increased healing not mention if you are running swelling wave this makes a single heal extremely powerful, wouldnt be surprised if you crit you full heal with swelling wave combined.

Honestly I don’t have this problem, only at the very beginning when I hit level 60 and had no gear would I ever OOM, but now that I’m 180 it has never happened in PvP once. My issue with this class is that we should be able to astral in a stun.

enhance isnt OP when you only have a single wall as a defensive with hardly any mobility and the only thing you rely on is your self heals.

Shaman have alot more then a single defensive, I compiled a list sometime ago:

I know how bursty PVP is now and I play Druid/Shaman all specs.
NOTE: there are sacrifices to be made in order to survive longer it is YOUR CHOICE.

Here is all the ways you can make yourself harder to kill:

  1. Nature’s Guardian 20% heal when below 35% 45sec CD, increased by Earth shield effective 24%.
    -HUGE BENEFIT: will work while cced so that cheapshot/stun survivability
  2. Astral Shift 40% dmg reduction 1.5sec CD
  3. Earth shield 20% increased healing + effectively a HOT to reduce incoming damage thru healing.
  4. Swelling waves (pvptalent): heal for another 50% sec later with healing surge, Healing is a big part of shaman survivability USE IT, this increases it by 50%.
  5. Spectral Recovery 3% HP heal every 2 seconds in ghost @25,000 it is 750hp every 2 seconds with Earth shield 900 it is some build in passive healing while kiting that could make a difference.
  6. Purifying waters (3%heal on dispell/purge)- Not my personal choice but I could see situation where this gets use.
  7. BattleMaster thrinket for +7500 health gain 120 sec CD effectively almost 30% HP on avg.

Covenants: I understand that this is not for everyone but I wanted to list this if someone wanted to maximize their survivability.

Necrolord:

  1. Fleshcraft 20% shield, this is not all that great but it is a shield non the less on the SHADOW tree so if you get kicked on nature and need a desperate heal you could channel this or bait a kick with it then spam healing surge.
  2. Ooz Frictioness coating: 15% shield when you go below 50% hp
    -HUGE BENEFIT: will work while cced so that cheapshot/stun survivability

(combine this with Natures Guardian for 24%+15%=39% EXTRA LIFE even if you are stun locked) then hit battle master +7500 health. potentially aprox 70% HP recovery to survive burst.)

Kyrian:

  1. Phial of serenity 20% heal on 180sec CD will remove poison, disease, bleed, curses effects.
  2. Pelagos -Vial of patience- increases heal of Phial of serenity to 55% but healing now over 10 sec.
  3. Kleia -Valiant Strikes - Up to 20% healing when someone falls below 50% gets charges for each crit strike, each charge 1% healing.
  4. Kleia- Ascendad Vial- Phial of serenity makes you also immune to poison, disease, bleed, curse effects for 8 seconds.

CONDUITS:

  1. Earth elemental- 20-40% increase HP 5 min cd
  2. Earth shield - 5-12% increase healing
  3. Healing surge- 15-30% increase self healing this will stack with swelling wave so amazing synergy + earth shield healing benefit.

like I said CHOICE is YOURS but you can become quite tanky.

Word of glory uses three holy power to cast and has a significant codown. Useing holf power on heaking takes more away from a palandins abilitybto do damage than enhance useing mw stacks. There is the balance. When wog is not available i have seen pallies bubble and start casting, or just start casting a heal if all options are gone.
Regrowth is less, frequency is debateable. I can bank mw stacks. Also , i havnt not gone oom just useing mw ztacks when i heal. If i start hard casting than it goes fast. As a druid try just cast regrowth and see how long you last.

I like enhamce healing how it is, it is almost like a lay on hands.

I get what you’re talking about with regards to PvP, but as someone that despises PvP, anything that is required for PvP purposes that impacts PvE is toxic in my opinion.

If there’s a wipe in a dungeon, feral druid, and ret paladin can both res everyone, heal them up to full, and still have mana.

If a Shaman does this, we can res everyone, or we can res 1-2 and heal 1-2 people to full, we can’t even just heal the entire group to full. Our heals are so bad and so costly, that it’s ONLY worth using a heal when we have 5 MSW stacks, we should NOT be able to go oom while healing up a group OUT OF COMBAT.

I do agree that making MSW reduce all mana cost would make the healing OP so Ive always said at least make it reduce the cost of mana by 5% to 10% each stack so we can at least heal just a couple more times or the best fix is just to give us shamanistic rage back which gave us mana when we took damage or even better the old aura we had that gave us mana regen when we attacked. I dont think this would make the class OP at all as they lack in almost every other field of survive ability. Movement and CC are technically a part of a class’ ability to survive. We have little movement options and little CC potential so if anything maybe allow instant cast hex at 5 MW stacks?

I main ret and enhance. It’s night and day in terms of self sustain. If you don’t get bursted down on Ret, you don’t die. Ret heals are infinite with uptime. Shaman’s aren’t. I guess the trade-off is that enhance can aoe heal the party?
