I love to play enhance, but i never had any good impact and died to a fly
Today i tried my ret, and i was saving people left and right while topping killing blows
Also if people fights in a big blob, my “melee” attacks are ranged so i never attract attention
I like storm with just stormstrike, crash lightning, lava lash, flame Shock, lightning bolt / chain lightning as rotational abilities. I would also like substituting lava lash/flame Shock for ice strike / frost shock, but you can’t really drop flame Shock.
Same for pve. Ret’s kit is just so complete, so well rounded, and so universally applicable that all they need to be “broken” is decent damage numbers.
Enhance is very strong right now particularly in funnel but it has survivability issues in higher M+ so for PvE its strength is generally raid. Luckily it’s not an issue for farm M+.
I play ret as my main alt and I gotta say Enhance is way more fun. Rotation is far more interesting and engaging. Ret is far easier and forgiving which can be both good and bad.
Ret is just ridiculously broken right now. It’s barely even a melee class since everything it has can be done at range which lets it continue doing full damage while running out of mechanics a lot of the time. It has a very simple rotation, does really good damage, has an incredible amount of utility, and the best survivability in the game.
Basically no class compares to ret because it’s just absurdly broken.
While true in a vacuum, in game they perform the same role and thus are subject to comparison.
Enhance is leaps and bounds squishier than every other melee, and are (to my knowledge) the only melee stuck at 5 to 6 hard target cap. It doesn’t matter if they’re caster-melee, melee-melee, ranged-melee, or whatever else. They’re all melee. They all have to deal with the same stuff and need the tools to do so.
Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. With tanks being basically immortal the design team has turned their attention to nuking the dps. Enhance’s lack of survivability compared to other melee is a huge issue.
Winshear is 30 but a 12 second cd
Feral charge is 5-25
Support totems have an un-talented range of 25 or 30 yards I forget which. But goes up to 32 with both talent points.
We also have root access from earth grab still.
What does it matter when you have to melee range to press stormstrike and lavalash, you´r still getting clapped in the blob with 1 defensive on 2 min cd
