These statements contribute nothing to your discussion point. Your reply to my previous post is another example of this.
THIS is more accurate to what you are referring to my friend. Everything I have said that you are pointing out is sarcastic responses. I have already stated my words, so now I am engaging in what others are bringing to the conversation. Whatever that may be.
See the updated statement.
At any rate, I do hope they have a transmog option for it come warwithin. Thereās literally no reason they canāt do it.
Yeah that would be great!
Seems silly to come into a thread and tell the OP that they should of scrolled through all the shaman forums to talk about this subject instead of starting a new one. Whatā¦ exactly do you expect as a response here? Do you do this for all the duplicate threads you see? If I go into all the current totemic and stormbringer threads or ascendance model threads or ele shaman issues threads, will I see you posting the same things there? āDiscuss this somewhere elseā?
I guess sorry for boring you? Not sure why you felt the need to even say anything at all if that is how you feel about it. If you didnāt want to be part of the conversation or for it to exist HERE, you didnāt have to engage at all.
I mean quite literally my first post is discussing my thoughts on it working and reasoning which matches up to what I have posted other times this topic has been brought up. I even formulated it as a question to you to get your thoughts on it but you seemed to ignore it. Iāll requote here and see if you respond to it now.
As to why I responded in this thread in the first place:
So people stop beating the dead horse at this point.
I was excited that blizzard finally added a totem weapon for Taurens and I eagerly did the quest and then I was likeā¦. Wait. I canāt even use it!
Two hand transmog now!
Honestly, I didnāt recognize that. I did genuinely believe your first post here was what I was saying above. So that is on me, apologies. I do remember reading this though, but came across as a rhetorical question instead of a question you wanted my feed back on.
Now that I am aware you want my opinion:
An option could be you generate 2 at a time instead of 1. And this can include abilities that guarantee MSW. Stormstrike/Icestrike/Lava Lash/Hailstorm come to mind. With the current iteration of Storm: (From my understanding) You only spend when you need SS resets, otherwise you have no issues with over capping as long as that sweet stormstrike juice is flowing.
If in regards you are referring to Stormbringer interactions: That build will most likely HEAVILY incentivize players to run 5 point spenders instead of 10. So even with the current MSW generation (not including the suggestion above) it would flow just fine. Especially with the 35% chance to refund 3 off all of your spenders (Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning)
Bullion tokens are a great design that could easily be kept around in every season. Or introduced later into each season. Also crafting is an option, so getting the exact weapon you want is a lot easier than ever. There are plenty of options available to the player in regards to gear acquisition.
Bullions would be dope. My issue more so comes from diluting the chance of say trinkets from vaults which in general thereās not a lot of crafting options for. Not to mention crafting does not interact with say getting higher track tier pieces via catalyst charges on. Crafting items are also at a lower item level as well, though not at a super significant amount.
The issue is that running 5-point spenders (Iām assuming you mean not running Overwhelming Maelstrom) would also lead to much resource wastage and would require extremely high CPM to avoid that, something that will feel god awful early on with low haste ratings. That also ends up being a significant amount of throughput loss too.
Yeah, there will never be a perfect short term solution. At the start of each expansion Darkmoon Cards are typically highly sought after. And getting crafted weapons or non-upgradable things can just hold the player over until they do get that best version. In good oleā MMO fashion we grind. It worked for mah papi, and gosh darn it! Itāll work for me too! Except we have them fancy crafted gear and our smart phones. Back in his day they had to face down raid bosses in quest blues. While walking uphill both ways.
You would have explain how having 10 MSW charges but only being able to spend 5 at a time would lead to resource wastage. I am very smooth brain.
Just proc RNG on natural MSW generation. Stormflurry can often lead to generating 4+ MSW with a single GCD, not to mention stacking MSW from wolves and refunds would often put you in situations where you cap MSW very quickly. Though the wastage wouldnāt be a massive amount Iāll admit. But I still donāt think 5 MSW spenders would warrant the throughput loss. Enhance these days are built around melee abilities enhancing spell casts and Stormbringer shifts the focus towards spenders.
Making enhancement 2h viable would be more than a few simple adjustments. The class would have to be rebuilt from the ground up because every part of the spec is designed with dual wield in mind.
-How do you normalize natural msw generation from auto attacks?
-How do you normalize weapon imbues?
-FS is MH, LL is OH, and SS is both- how do you make this work with a 2h?
-If 2h favors SS and canāt LL then how do you normalize SS resets and how does 2h spread flame shock?
-How does a person target the weapons they want?
I could go on, but I hope this is clear. This isnāt a simple matter of a few % adjustments here and there. Every bit of how the spec is designed is for dual wielding. If all it took was a passive here and an adjustment there, then frost DKs wouldnāt be where theyāre at and SMF warriors would be viable.
People always want to point to WW monks as being weapon agnostic, but they were designed to be that way from the start. They are a (mostly) unarmed class whose weapon is just a stat stick, and even then DW is usually the go to. They are all using 2h right now because of the Fyrakk weapon being so strong.
Could they remake enhancement to be like monk? Yes, but only if they broke the class down to the foundation and completely rebuilt it. Would it be worth the dev time and risk of it sucking afterwards? I donāt believe it would be.
Enhancement has been DW only since TBC, so unless you made that toon all the way back in original vanilla you knew that you were making a dual wield class.
There is a good chance this game isnāt for you. Also, to the point if you want to redesign a class you really need to find some other class to play.
So everyone who provides feedback on how they think their class could be designed better, they should just all reroll instead of providing feedback? Are you serious?
Yeah, if you fundamentally donāt like the way a spec plays you need to find something that you can handle/cope with.
Giving ideas and suggestions =/= not liking how a spec plays
In Order:
- As stated above, When equipping a 2her you gain double MSW generation from all sources. Auto attacks/SS/LL/IS/Hailstorm.
- As stated in my original post, Windfury would most likely need to scale off weapon damage instead of being % attack power. Can make WF double proc chance on a 2H.
- ā¦ You make them usable with a main hand as well? Let the weapon damage scale the damage? Like most abilities do? (this one seems so obvious that it seems really strange to even ask it as a question)
- Just assuming you cant LL. This is a theoretical conversation; you can change more then one thing at once. Lets just assume you can use your attacks with the weapon your character knows how to wield?
- As stated above, bullion token system or crafted gear. Maces/Axes can easily have agility as a stat on them that is greyed out. Grind out the ole fashion way. There is so many plate 2h classes that the competition really would go away fast. Gear sharing is pretty popular.
2H abilities would hit harder but you would most likely have less generation and less procs. (By comparison, but will likely function fine regardless) I feel like that is something everyone is fine with. They donāt need to be comparable side by side on a target dummy. In pvp especially the damage profile options become very important. And Iām sure their some pve encounter that are the same.
I originally started playing in TBC. I remember being a male tauren with full SM mail gear at lv 40 with icy touch and fiery weapon enchants having a great time. That doesnāt change the fact that my character āKnowsā how to wield a 2H Mace and Axe but is unable to figure out how to use their attacks with it. I too am an advocator of transmog. But I want to know what other ideas people have cooked for a possible 2H return to form if you will.
I stand corrected! THIS is the most ignorant thing. You dare have an opinion of something? OFF TO JAIL WITH YOU! I feel like this is the the wow equivalent of ālet me see your papersā
Personally I donāt think itās a question of will it work or could it work.
I think itās more of the community scared that Blizzard might blunder implementing it and then being left off in a worse state for a whole expansion before they get their act together and get it perfect.
Honestly thatās the issue, Blizzard doesnāt have a great track record that beams confidence to the community.
Like youāve mentioned above, with adjustments it could work, but I personally canāt see Blizzard getting it right, Heck, Hero Specs seem easier to implement and they struggling as it is on that.
My thoughts first of all no both options should be available for Storm or Elementalist.
Now that is taken care of Blizzard said 2h isnāt going to come back to retail. First I do not trust them to balance both specs look at the hot mess of Frost DKā¦No if 2h was to come back to Shaman it would need its own spec. And with a company more worried about pictures at inns rather than balancing yea just no.
I was pro return of 2h Enhancement but blizzard would not be able to balance it properly .
I donāt think you realize that ājust double itā doesnāt balance it.
If anything. It would make 2h much much stronger than DW.
Again, I donāt think they need to be comparable. But apparently the common consensus is just ānoā. I had hoped others had ideas and more thoughts in the matter, that I was curious about. Some have which was nice.
I find it depressing that we have weapon skills we canāt actually use and everyone seems to be okay with it. Just remove the weapon skills at this point then.
