English players with non-english players

Hi There,

Why are Non-English speaking players paired with english-speaking players in LFR and LFD? Pretty simple question and I think it’s self-explanatory.
It’s frustrating, annoying and makes ZERO sense. I’d really like to understand the logic behind it

Thank you

How is a dungeon meant to function / work out when the players can’t communicate?

Because non-English people would also like to play the game with reasonable queue times. Anything you can queue for is unlikely to need significant communication, and the small amount you might need in LFR as specifically a Tank would be handled by DBM if they’re running that.

How do you know that they don’t know English? Based on just anecdotal LFD runs, most people just don’t want to talk in general.

You are queued up with everyone in the Americas Region, to allow every player a better chance of getting into instances in a timely manner. As the game is global there’s no particular restrictions on language, and the emote system will translate automatically depending on what language pack your using.

So its OUR fault there’s no decent servers in non-emglish places and Blizzard insists on it?
Like having servers for Latin America in CHICAGO?

I speak English OK. Is this what they been calling american superiority complex on tv?

Who talks in LFD/LFR? What could you possibly have to communicate in a normal or heroic dungeon?

LFR might be an exception, but its not like people who speak english in LFR actually understand it, or bother to listen to strategy… that happens regardless of language.

Is that intended to be a reply to me? Don’t really see why it would be.

Es triste, entiendo a que te refieres, para mi es un problema estar en grupos donde la mayoría no habla español o portugués, o inglés o alemán…
A verdade, eu acho que voce precisa fazer aulas para aprender novos idiomas.
Also, pretty much no one talks in LFR and LFD anymore, wha’ts the point of it?

I was in a dungeon pug with a Portuguese speaker a few weeks ago (which I thought was pretty novel?) and it wasn’t a big deal because you know what, in most pugs chat is limited to the occasional “sorry” or “good group” if that :woman_shrugging:

It has nothing to do with server locations.
If the Latin America (Spanish) servers were separated, then players there would wait hours for any groups to form (LFD, LFR, BG’s, etc) due to the low populations of players. Same for the Brazil (Portuguese) servers.

All North America region servers are together. Which means occasionally you may be grouped with non-English speaking players.

Try to think of it as a new challenge, or something new to try and learn?

I agree. Not being able to communicate really kills grouping w/ others to accomplish a task.

oh here we go.

EVERY culture on IRL EArth feels its the best. As for language, Americanized English has been the mutually accepted lingua francia of the Internet since whenever.
to conclude, WHY don’t Latin countries have their own servers? EU and Oceania certainly do.

In which case, they should be expected to learn English.
I had to.

No. No it has not. It’s whatever the hell you want to speak. There’s no default language on the internet.
