If you don’t take the right specializations in the right order you can’t level past 60. I seem to have painted myself into a corner, I can’t take the specialization I need to level it, until I have level 75 engineering,…which can’t be done without the specialization I need…
Hoping Blizzard lets us respect profession points in the future.

Yeah this was super frustrating to deal with. I’ve got bracer crafts so it’s probably best to level some alts for their sparks. Not ideal obviously but it is a solution to this terrible system.
It might stuck but there still is darkmoon faire monthly profession quests. It should give you +5 skill. With Dragonflight, it will also give knowledge points.
Which specializations did you take that trapped you? Have you checked your unlearned recipes to make sure there aren’t other recipes you can acquire?
One example would be the profession tool recipes you can acquire from the four factions.
They nerfed that because of course they did. It only gives +2 now. So just 20 more months to go!

What specialization? I am stuck, no order is coming in for any engineering, and I have a few unused points to spend.
Just buy the Khaz’gorite fischer recipe thingy. Was able to craft these up to 98 engineer and then completed darkmoon faire for the extra 2 skill in the first week.
I’ve learned I can still level it, I will just be gated by weekly drops.
Have you increased our renown with the dragon factions? There are recipes available requiring level 50 profession, I believe around renown 14.

Does it really matter if you level eng up? You can’t make anything anyone wants anyway. I’m like 73-75 made all the novelties and am like 3away from the last node to fully unlock the wormhole. I’ve mad my helm and bracers, whats left? Why should I care about getting 100?
Nobody wants my pointless toys. If it wasn’t for all the decades all crap that I like having, i’d drop eng for something else. But I need jeeves, mailbox, wormholes, glider, and rocket boost. I can’t think of a single other tinker worth using.

Profession skill = craft quality. If you’re an engi stuck at 55, you can’t even inspire a t4 craft. If you’re below the baseline t4 craft, it’s extremely hard to find people willing to buy t3 crafts. I’m putting a ton of points into guncrafting & gearmaking for bracers, and have been stuck at 75 engineering due to nobody wanting t3 crafts. Nobody even puts out public crafting orders for these - I’ve skilled up roughly 4 times from crafting orders by sitting next to the bench for hours.
What are you making that quality matters? All your crafted stuff is easily replaced by mythic 10 gear. Nothing engineers makes matters.
Mythic 10 drops at 389, Engineers can craft 392/405 gear depending on mats and quality. Goggles, bracers and guns.
405 if you have a raid mat.
My m10 weapon is 392.
You can get Primal infusion out of m+ actually. Doesn’t change the fact we can craft 405 gear, which is +15 ilvl from normal gear
30 m+ run and haven’t seen one drop for anyone.
Has to be +10 or higher, google “Primal Focus”, you combine 10 Primal Focus and 100 Primal Chaos to get 1 infusion. I have like 8 rn
Yeah engineering is pretty garbage. I’m wrestling with sunk cost fallacy on abandoning it and just picking up herbalism to pair with mining.

Prove you have 8 infusions. I’ve been running 10s and have yet to see any drop.
Hide on a classic char so nobody can scope you.
They start dropping at 11s
