Engineering = useless? It's very expensive to level, 125 expulsom? Compared to other such as Alchemist/Tailoring/Inscription/Enchanting/Jewelcrafting, engineering is a pain to level.
Plus there's literally no usefull stuff we can sell / create :( , A mount sure but give it some time every engineer would make one and the price will plummet :(
The Epic Googles are worthless as it's only 340 ilvl, even a Freshly dinged 120 can spend 10-20k and attain 320 ilvl easy, a quest reward here and there and voila, you pass the 340 marks :(
Give us something usefull? Or at least reduce the ridiculous leveling requirement. 125 expulsom just to level?
All of the crafting professions are like that currently. Yes, the mounts value my drop with time, but not everyone is willing to farm 125 expulsom to cap the profession, farm Motherload for the pattern, and then keep farming it for the materials to craft the mount.
And the goggles haven't been a combat perk since BC. They are primarily intended for transmog and in BfA are necessary for getting a high enough skill to farm the mount schematic and craft it.

Im just struggling trying to get my engineering to 150. Stuck at 135. Doing the occasional Engineering WQ for 1 point is taking way too much time. Mats are crazy. Not teleporter or Bling-a-tron. Sad too. Been an engineer since Vanilla and really enjoyed the toys and fun things that came along with Engineer. Not ready to dump it yet, but it really has no point.
Patch 8.1 is adding a bress consumable for engineering.
Blizzard doesn't appear to care much about professions in BFA.
The really useful engineering items are pre-bfa
Wormholes and Transporters
Reeves (reusable repair and legion Wormholes)
Jeeves
Moll-E
Nitro boost
Goblin Gliders
Parachute
For me, those are damn good and the only reason I'm keep engineering.
BfA Engineering has very little to offer, but it has some things
Two Hunter-specific items
Portable Stable
Ammunition which is bis weapon enchant
And some borderline things for everyone else:
Electroshock motivator for faster mount speed
Magical Intrusion Dampener to block some annoying joke stuff from others
It's really unfortunate that the goggles are 340, not upgradeable and only a gimmick thats needed to farm the mount. If they had been upgradeable to 385 it would have been a saving grace for the profession.

Then add in that the Hypersensitive Azeritometer Sensor which is a material used to craft a follower item that 'might' reward AP from missions is not sold by the engineering vendor (or at least it wasn't) but is sold by the blacksmithing vendor and a number of other vendors yet has 1 use only.
engineers can craft a personal shield via belt enchant. its 10min cd but quite useful as a raider

I think it doesn't even reset on wipes
I don't see the point of maxing engineering. I'm already past the point where the goggles are useful. I was well past that point without ever running a single mythic with my engineer. Or even a heroic for that matter. They have yet to give me a reason to level engineering up past what I needed for rank 3 scopes.
Engineering can make some good gold from cogwheel "gems" and from the helms.
Mainly for timewalking purposes. Use Ghost Iron Dragonling in a TW dungeon with cogwheels and you'll see what im talking about.

So every 4-5 weeks we can make a couple thousand gold. Sweet?

Hmm. So, nothing has changed since vanilla?
Engineering has always been the side diversion with little direct value compared to other professions. Did you really expect that to change in BFA?
The problem with engineering is simply expulsom. It's too hard to get. You might have to scrap 20 or 30 items to get enough to make anything that can fetch even a few thousand gold at the AH. The really need to increase the explusom drop rates for scrapping, or decrease the amount it takes to craft things. The highest end items take like 20 expulsom to make. That's nuts. You could play the game for weeks without getting that such.
Having a LW or Tailor helps when you can craft hundreds of bracers to scrap. Make them. Send them. Scrap them.

Yeah, but how many are really going to have that as their other profession? I think most would prefer to have a gathering profession to go along with their crafting one.
Goblin Glider Kit.
Engineering is worthless other than that.
