I’m at 76 and currently the only way to level past 75 without crafting orders (which there is no demand for at the moment) is with a Renown 15 schematic from Dragonscale Reputation: Spring-Loaded Khaz’gorite Fabric Cutters. 25 crafts of this would level me to 100 but this would require 7500 Artisan’s Mettle and very expensive mats for an item that is BOP and can’t even re-sell.

All professions cannot level without crafting orders, it sucks but that’s not an engineering problem
this is not true for enchanting.
I thought that Alch / Ench are both free of this issue?
i’m currently at 95 Engineering. Work orders are rare but they do show up. I’ve made 3 bracers so far from it. I also bought the fishing pole schematic from the AH and have made a few of those along with the tailoring equipment.
As more people get to max level and start leveling their professions more and more will want these equipment. More work orders will appear. It will take awhile but you will find them.
I’m impressed you got that far, I hit my Engineering wall at 55. I priced out skilling up to 75 to unlock a new tree and it would be 100k gold worth of things I’d be vendoring because they don’t sell on the AH.
There are no Engineering work orders on my server… not work orders for things I can’t make, literally none even looking at recipes I don’t have but could get like the fishing pole.
This is simply not the case for most players on most realms. You’re very lucky. If I had the time to camp the crafting orders for engi on my realm I might get 1 bracer order. Maybe, if I hit reload at the right moment and am fast enough to claim it.
The crafting order system is NOT sufficient to level with.
I’ve had no problems with Alchemy leveling. Smithing has been difficult, but engineering is much worse.
Quite the opposite. Everyone got to max lvl in a day, so the more players that already get those items, the less players will need them in the future.
All profession tools were ridiculous expensive on the first few days, now it’s hard to sell them because everyone is already wearing them.
Engineering is just so pointless. We need more stuff that other people can use.Whats the point of the WO system when only other eng can use your crap outside of toys?
Buy the khaz’gorite fisherman recipe and craft a bunch, was able to lvl all the way up to 98 with it. Completed to 100 with the darmoonfair +2 skill quest.
I mean that recipe runs 100-500k gold depending on server size. Not many players are gonna have that cash lying around (especially not engineers who can’t make money since almost nothing they make is a raid mat/usable by non-engineers).
They need to put in leveling recipes which aren’t spec and crafting order dependent. The recent hotfix utterly fails to address this.
