Hi,
I just started farming the Engineering mount - Mecha-Mogul MK2 and had a few questions:
- Do I have to be wearing the AZ3 Ri-T3 goggles to get any of the mats? I havent made the 8.1 goggles yet, but I have a better iLevel(390) goggles. Can I just keep the engineering goggles in my bag or do I have to be wearing them?
- If there is more than 1 engineer in the party, can we both get loot off the mobs or is it ‘whoever engineers the mobs first’ wins?
- I dont have the recipe yet, can I still get the mats or do I need the recipe first?
- Lastly, is it only Mythic that drops the recipe and mount parts or can it be Mythic+?
Thank you
There are 3 items in motherlode that you have to get:
- Azerite Forged Protection Plating, which is salvaged/skinned from the mechs
- Azerite Inspir-A-Geneering Elixir, dropped from the Mastermind mobs but only if you have max engineering and wearing the goggles with all traits unlocked.
- Mecha-Mogul Mk1 Remote Activation Device, which is a drop from the final boss, which you can only get if you’re wearing the goggles with all traits unlocked, max engineering, and used the elixir.
Only 1 engineer can salvage the plating from the mechs.
I think the schematic can drop on Mythic+ but everything else can only be from Mythic.

Thank you. I helps me a lot in what I need to do to get the mats.
So Elixir only drops in mythic only? Or will it drop in normal/heroic?
I have only seen the Elixir on Mythic.
It’s been the third week in a row that I can’t get a single mat from salvaging mechs, neither the elixir from any of the Masterminds (killed all of them)…
I know the drop chance is 30%, but am I being really that unlucky? Anyone else having that issue?
I’m wearing my 390 goggles, of course.
And you are Mythic? The end boss gave me atleast one of each the 3 mats needed. The boss turned out to be for me the best source of the mats.
