Does anyone else feel like engineering got screwed over in Shadowlands? Like every other major crafting profession gets important things for legendary crafting to sell and other useful stuff and then engineering just has nothing, even when it comes to hunters which engineering is usually great for has basically nothing, just 2 scopes and 1 gun like come on blizzard please fix this

What do you expect them to do? Let us craft a legendary gun or something? Also not every other profession a legendary to craft and engineering did get some useful thing.
- Perhaps the most important, the SL brez machine (Disposable Spectrophasic Reanimator)
- Shadow Land Mine is an additional knock back.
- We have 3 belt “enchants”
-Damage Retaliator, reflects damage
-Dimensional Shifter, an additional stealth
-Electro-Jump, a short teleport - If you get exalted with the Ascended you can by a schematic to build a pet that you can sell
- Let’s not forget the Momentum Redistribution Boots, which lets you redistribute a significant portion your falling damage to the enemies around you.
- 5OUL-TR4P gives you a banish.
So yeah, lots of useful things for engineers, if you look past “Well we didn’t get a legendary to craft”
Engineer pets don’t sell well at all and you’ll probably end up selling at a loss
Loving the wormhole… port to calling location, do quests, hearth home. It even has an Oribos drop.
I wish they’d make legendary goggles. Give them a neat perk… something like “can be engineered to accept any legendary, bypassing the slot requirement”.

Honestly they missed an opportunity for us to create something unique like a legendary belt enchant or something along those lines for engineers. Granted not everyone will make a belt piece…but just an idea that could have gotten the thought process rolling.
Perhaps a legendary engineering effect that can go on any legendary however can only be on one equipped item at a time.

Engineer should be able to make an item that bypasses the base item requirement. Plop it in on any base item slot for an upgrade instead of having to buy a 300k replacement.
I love the wormhole. Makes traveling a lot easier. I do wish there were legendary goggles that as suggested above would accept any of the memories. I also use the random blink tinker on my belt. Comes in handy in random bgs. And of course the scope is useful.
But I would say that at this point I don’t have much of a reason to craft anymore… I’m hoping we will get some new schematics later on. Though I do still use old engineering items a fair bit. I need to get caught up on cata and legion engineering since I took a break during those expansions.

I created this hunter in BFA and never got into her so I have a lot of engineering stuff too catch up with once I can afford said materials lol but I would of loved legendary goggles that would of been great

Both bres and the wormhole (along with other utility items) make engineering quite overpowered in both performance and utility. Actually, the bres alone makes engineering really strong.

Engineering in general kinda stinks for anything but QoL. If you like mailboxes, repair bots, and portals that make you not miss a mage then Eng is awesome.
I can’t go back to not having portals to everywhere

Even if they were BoP and we could sell them, the fact that are no legendary goggles is incredibly disappointing.
Besides that though, I’m fairly happy with engineering this expansion. The wormhole is fantastic with its short CD, the banish is nice, b-res is always useful. Plus all the old tools still work. The new tinkers are kind of useless (as usual), but honestly, even after so many years what can really compete with the glider and nitro boosts?
I was annoyed when I found out the goggles were soulbound and couldn’t be sold, but I’ve been pretty happy after I got the Wormhole.
Plus the usual perks of having Jeeves be my bank, a Battle Res consumable, an extra Mailbox, and an Auction House in Oribos.

Yep… it is sometimes frustrating to see that Engy doesn’t receive a ton of cool new stuff… but when you consider all the old things that still make it convenient and awesome, one little thing here or there could make it really OP.
BoP accept-any-memory Legendary goggles would have been enough for me to call Engineering the top personal profession this expansion. It offers little value in terms of selling goods to other players, but the QoL benefits are really nice.

Could use an updated explosive that opens locked boxes, I guess. I tried the belt tinker that teleports your char. to a random location a short distance away and found the time it took to adjust to my new location… it was slightly disorienting… which I liked. It just can’t really compete with the old tinker (nitro boost), which has been an issue for awhile now.
Yeah my engineer (Warrior) hasn’t ever switched from Nitro Boost, and I don’t intend to.
Yeah. It’s been 12 years and Nitro Boosts is still too good to give up. Maybe if this was an actual blink on a more reasonable CD, but 2 minutes to warp in a random direction? Meh.
