Engineering Helms & Diamond-Laced Refracting Prism

Can we please take a look at reducing effectiveness in PvP for Engineering Helms & Diamond-Laced Refracting Prism. The Relational Normalization Gizmo, Personal Absorb-o-tron, and Auto-Self-Cauterizer traits and the Diamond-Laced trinket shielding offer way to much passive defense to classes that are already ahead of the pack. These are leaps and bounds ahead of Safeguard Trinket, and having both of these work at 100% effectiveness in a Rated PvP environment makes the user a non-viable kill target for just about everything but RMP burst.

Even at 50% effectiveness these traits + trinket would see viable use in PvP, without it being SOOO much ahead of their alternatives.

Honestly don’t think there will be changes but yeah these are hilariously broken

It’s funny when you have immortal comps like DH/DK and then you throw those in as well

The only true ironic justice in the world is that the players I’ve seen that have these still aren’t top 10 on ladder

Dillon you’re kind of dumb. As if those top 10 players in the world couldn’t be even better than they are, if they cared to try and use that item. If they did, they’d stay top 10 until patched.

Of course - not a single good player has those items, only random fotm players from what I’ve seen

But even a bad player should be top 10 with them I think especially with a t1 comp

what dilly says is truth. this is gonna be toxic but i hate this garbage pve meta and the players that abuse it just makes me :face_vomiting:

look at vexst’s spr/ww/rdruid. they’re top 10 on ladder and it isn’t from skill in the slightest.

now i’m a rmpal main, so i don’t have much room to talk in terms of a comp having skill behind it or anything but, after watching their games against good players they all 3 abuse the heck out of pve trinkets. floormat uses diamond barrier trinket as well as the aoe shield trinket. the ww is like 419 ilvl with the diamond barrier trinket making it proc like 12k absorbs. And even the rdruid uses the aoe shield trinket for 2x aoe shield of 70k ish a piece.

vexst tanks 3x dr sheeps more than ANY druid i’ve seen, and both the ww and floormat do NOTHING all game and still win just because pve gear stacking benefits their classes more than others.

don’t get me wrong i think floormat is a very good frost mage, easily one of the best in NA, but his spriest gameplay is average at best and his comp strictly wins from pve trinkets and being insanely high ilvl on classes that benefit strongly from it in this meta.

it’s just gross, this meta can suck a fat one.

also watching their games vs nahj/ticki/vultz, the rmp literally had countless perfect setups but the ww/spr/rdruid just perma lives because their comp benefits too hard off the pve stuff, to the point where it’s carrying them heavily.

Which trinket is the aoe absorb one. Might as well make a list of PvE gear that’s needs some adjustments. Who knows maybe Bornakk will see it

Oh and btw, the Crucible of Storms gear is gonna mess up this meta even worse if they don’t proactively do something first (which won’t happen of course)

ward of something, it’s off champions in new raid. the first boss

Armory vultz, the guy has 34% haste
We ignore him because targeting him while he spell steals hots would be the wrong move.
We have to focus on interrupting and CCing Ticki or else he outmana’s me. Yeah I’m not sure how, gotta ask ticki yourself how he does it.
All these things add up to an arcane mage who can sheep an Rdruid.

Here’s a clip of Vultz saying he should get sheeps on an Rdruid if he’s ignored

https:// www. twitch.tv /vultzx - that’s his twitch, awesome content

Also, thanks for watching our games. I think pvp gearing should be upgraded so people don’t feel the need to pve…

The engineering traits are 50% in pvp combat, the tank trinket needs to be looked at tho.

Never heard of thanor or vexst in my life, but they are literally the 2nd highest team on ladder. wonder where they would be if pve trinkets weren’t allowed in pvp.

Nah the engy traits are 100% effective in pvp, just the gnomish gizmo and the cauterizer or absorbatron, the class trait is still reduced by 50%. i noticed this the first time i did rbgs when i had just crafted my 415 engy helm.

And this is case in point on why PvP should be balanced with templates.

Blizzard can never be trusted to properly identify and balance individual items for PvP. Every single patch there will be a multitude of PvE items that are overlooked and abused in PvP for months on end until fixed, at which point the next patch will be released and it will all happen again ad infinitum.

A bandaid I’d be okay with for now is completely disable PvE trinkets in PvP and give us a vendor that only sells PvP trinkets.

Pretty much this. Just wait… Crucible of Storms items will be completely ignored for PvP tuning and we’re gonna be in an even more cancerous meta next week.

There’s honestly so many examples of this happening. It’s literally every single time new items are added. If I actually documented every time it happened nobody would ever disagree with me that templates are needed. Just look at the first BfA tournament with tank trinkets. It’s truly a joke that templates were removed because 2 people (one being Abom) said they loved the “grind”. /barf

He sure loved that grind didn’t he… so much so that he quit the game mid season 1 after he realized how terrible it was and had cried all throughout legion for it :joy::joy:

Maybe Blizzard thinks broken raid items make pvp more fun and exciting

Keep in mind the massive majority of the playerbase are pve’rs of some sort. Why would they remove “fun” from their main demographic? Plus, we all wanted templates gone, right?

Right!?

i didn’t say it was just vultz you let free sheep you lol.

when i played mage back start of dread all you did was tank poly, and it still hasn’t changed :+1:

The tooltip changes when you enter pvp instances.

wouldnt it be great if professions mattered again? I miss when the game felt like a real rpg, things like gem colors, meta slots, enchants, weapon chains…
