Like many engineers I specialised in S.A.V.I.O.R. and once I got to that point and made one we all had a collective sigh once we realised what that thing is. But I needed to go that if I wanted the bres option and decided why not just waste my entire profession and took the wrymhole options also.
“Oh bres is useful.”
Sure once you than realise you need enough points to make the helmet or wrist, then you realise no one asking for the blue wrist crafting orders so now you need to make some until it procs the purple one you can use.
So I made some toys, the helmet is fun… once per day.
The weather machine is nice, if you sit within some 40 yards of the weather machine.
The skybox changer is cool, but has the same issue with range.
Professions this expansion have been hit and miss, you either took the right profession AND the right specialisations, or you took the wrong specialisation, or both. Sure 6 months later I will have it all unlocked, but by then it’s done, no one needing anything, no money to be made, nothing useful or fun or unique I can sell.
Would have been best to just take both mining and herbalism and just buy everything I want from the AH or crafting orders.
I know we want at least one profession reset, but how? Do they take away all the things we learned, or disable everything linked to a specialisation until we learn it again? Do they force us to re-make 100 treatise in inscription until we learn them all again? What about the weeks worth of treatise we have already used to gain knowledge, do we just lose all that progress?
It’s simple asking for a reset, but it’s far easier to ask for it to be improved on so those who took useless specialisations can speed up and get to something useful so at least we have something we can use for ourselves.

I still have no idea why Engineers cannot sell scrapbots for non engineers.
It’s so…just ugh. So the only people that can use a scrapbot are the people who can make their own scrapbot?
I understand Jeeves being engineer only. Keep that. But all the bots crafted up till then are perfect for engineers to sell.

Scrapbot is great, for the one or two people you have in your raid that can use it, and it’s cheap now, 210g worth of saronite bars for 5 scrapbots. Honestly though I should have learned from Classic through to Wrath engineering and noted that everything outside of a few bits and pieces like the hunter ammo and scopes, and this time around the wrist and helmet would be completely and utterly useless, again.
New professions we think, big changes we thought, nah, engineering has had like 3 useful things each expansion and nothing changed this time around, they gave use more stuff that looked great on paper but were worthless and a waste of time, yet again.
It’s just so bad being an engineer that if it was not for the collective years worth of useful stuff combined from the last 10 expansions I would have dropped it.

Engineering should be the ultimate class substitute profession, but for some reason Blizzard doesn’t go all in. Engineering should be able to craft:
Non-Soulbond, can be sold to anyone as consumables
- A Mage portal substitute
- A Warlock portal substitute
- A Battle Rezz item
- A Bloodlust/Heroism item
- Auto-Hammers using expansion appropriate mats
Soulbond, Personal use or Work-Orders only
(All of these styled with their own robot or energy-shield visual effect)
- A Death Knight Gorefiend’s Grasp substitute
- A Demon Hunter Eye Beam Substitute
- A Druid Stampeding Roar substitute
- An Evoker Rewind Substitute
- A Hunter Frost Trap Substitute
- A Monk Ring of Peace substitute
- A Priest Mass Dispel substitute
- A Paladin Divine Shield Substitute
- A Rogue Shroud of Concealment substitute
- A Shaman Earth Elemental substitute
- A Warlock Demonic Gateway substitute
- A Warrior Heroic Leap Substitute
All of those sharing a minimum 2 minutes cooldown or their own, whichever is longest. Basically, an Engineer would be the ultimate Batman fantasy: you’d never be quite sure what next they can pull out of their belt to save the group or ruin your day.

Don’t forget the chance for everything to fail because it wouldn’t be engineering without it, and also be very OP to the point you won’t need specific classes anymore.
It’s just so very sad that we have bombs that have a 5 minute CD, which puts other things on CD, that can be used to open walls that only miners can open as something sort of useful. But bombs, and all that other crap we can make, it’s mostly useless for anything but lols.

No I’m talking about the 5 minute on use CD, which means you can blow up corpses once per 5 minutes.

the SL wormhole was awesome. Legions was off the hook. Mists was very good. BFA was really nice.
15 minute CDs, so actually usable.
2 hours for DF that can be reduced to an hour? lmao.
I may as well just take the steenking bus at that rate. Pretty much pointless to bother with. The hearthstone is better.
Im not even bothering with DF Engineering.
If Eng wasnt required to use all the great toys from previous content Id probably just drop it entirely at this point

S.A.V.I.O.R is 40 points into Mechanical Mind, which gives you +1 overall skill for every point. It’s one of 4 40 point talents you need to fill before you can hope to craft high level bracers.

Faster to fly than any other form in DF, especially considering the wyrmhole, even when you get all the upgrades, is still RNG to 3 points per zone.
