Engineering Goggles vs other crafted Helmets

Hey so I was thinking on putting engineering on both of my mains but I heard that the goggles and engineering to a degree isn’t the greatest unless you do PVP which I don’t plan on doing. My two mains are a Brewmaster Monk and Preservation Evoker and they both have Alchemy already for the increased Flask duration. Also I know engineering comes with some fun toys and gadgets like a portal and repair device but I don’t care enough to have those things on my main anyways. So it seems to me the only soulbound thing that would matter to me is the goggles, are they worth it or are other crafted helms better. I have an alt army for all professions specs so I plan on making their gear so im wondering if its worth it or should I just chuck it on one of my gathering alts. My Druid is Mining/Herbalism and my Warlock is Inscription/Tailoring for Cloth and Darkmoon Cards, so ill probably just chuck it on my hunter with Skinning and replace Leatherworking with Engineering (I know you only get scraps from humanoids and not beasts but they are gathering stuff anyways rather than having to get scrap on two diff characters.) Thoughts on this, honestly might just chuck Jewelcrafting on Evoker and Inscription on Monk for lore reasons.
