Engineering Bombs

What is the point of spending any points in the bombs tree if we cannot use them in either M+ or Raids? Seems like a major oversight.

Bump for response.

You also cant use the bombs in Timewalking.

We are getting a new bomb in 10.1.

What is the point of bombs when you can only use them in trivial open world content?

Really feels like they missed something here that needs to be revisited. Are we still haunted by wotlk saronite bombs being good?

Also we’re two and a half weeks away from 10.1 and the new tinker in 10.1 still only lists 35k dmg, which is half of what breath of neltharion does, and that 35k is split across all enemies.

Are we really ok with having a whole branch of a profession being useless?

Bump, let us use bombs in our content of choice.

Imagine not being able to use potions, phials or runes / enchants in any content but outdoors. Thats how engineers feel right now.

Welcome to engineering!

Where can you go for the bomb recipes? Engineering is so useless in Dragonflight, but it’s no different than most other expansions.

You mean where to get the plans? “Normal” bombs are learned from the expedition renown, the others are from AH and / or the prof guild.

You can also spec into being able to craft non-engineer bombs which could be a money source if they’d allow us to use bombs in raids, dungeons and M+

its so silly really

I picked up this profession thinking that I could use bombs in M+, when I found out that I couldn’t it really baffled me.

To further the frustration, some tooltips state they only work in outdoor content, whilst some don’t even mention that at all.

Unless you only do outdoor content, bombs is useless and I wish I could get those 70 points back.

#letusbeabletorepsecpoints.

The two suspicious crates give skill ups until 100, so theres your way to max skill if you are patient.

Thats a good tip, thank you Sharonna

Please, Blizzard, give us explosions in Dungeons, Raids and M+

Can’t even use them in Random BG’s.

Limiting to only a tiny sliver of content is baffling.

Bumping for attention. Specialized in bombs. Was a bad choice. I WIN button is fun for World PvP… once a day.

Creature Combustion malfunctions way too often for someone specializing in bombs.

People need more awareness that the deconstruction charge breaks rock walls in open world, but it’s not useful enough to really stress or care for, and engis sell their bombs hella cheap regardless

Its not just the bombs. The bombs would be awesome if they weren’t such a long CD and could be used in dungeons like you said, but this whole profession feel like garbage, although Eng has been bad for several expansion already, but this one feels worse than usual. I mean yes we get the goggles but then that is a Tier slot then we get the bracers with eng sockets, then you look at the socket option and the only one that is good is the BR, but as it goes in eng it can fail. We were able to make a range weapon in the pass expansions but on this one the gun we can usually make is a random BoE drop from a raid none the least while LW can just buy it from a vendor as well as make way better armour with embellishments. The reason some of us are even still eng’s is because we have been one for a long time ago with patterns that can’t be found anymore or because we are so deep into the profession that dropping it would do even more harm than having it.

Thank you for the feedback.

I agree that not only the use of bombs in “relevant” content should be enabled asap, but cooldowns of both bombs aswell as tinkers need to be looked at again.

If you decide not to go for the Brez, the Breath of Neltharion has a ten minute cooldown, which is just silly for the amount of dmg it does with a chance to just go and fail.

One can only hope that they revisit engineering in the next “in-between” patch.

Went engineering for 10.1 for Brez and saw that they could throw bombs. What a disappointment it was to learn its spec tree is only good for levelling the profession.

Vote 1 for bombs use anywhere and everywhere!

You don’t need to be engineering to use the brez

Haha… the more you know… Normally I don’t bother with professions and just do gathering for easy gold.

Bump for Bomb’ability in 10.1.5 <3
