So, Blizz, when you planning on joining the 21st century and adding fully voiced questing and per pixel lighting to WoW? I know you can do it since it’s in your other games… stop being cheap please.
I am sure they’d love to.
Not always that easy.
I can think of 1000 other things I’d rather see them sink money into than voice actors and oh so sweet lighting effects.
Bug fixes and balancing comes first to mind.
i can’t wait to have my hair waving as i gracefully ride my tiger into the fields of bastion…BotW style <3
i can dream right?
Sure, it’d be sweet but we can never forget this is a small indie company. You’re expecting too much.
imagine asking the community if they want voice acting for quest that many players skip through on their way to 60, or player housing and new multiplayer modes.
what if they make a deal with nintendo and go to switch?
then can we has it?
I know this sarcasm but would you really want sub 30fps for WoW
i just want to not be stiff when i move
their overwatch engine is nice… (:
I’ll be honest, I think theirs a better chance of you winning the lottery then Blizzard caring about WoW…
There are thousands of quests in the game. The amount of extra data they’d have to add to the game to voice over every single one would be massive, and wow is already a heffer as it is.
Also, they’d probably have to make wow 2 to make any significant changes like that. There’s almost two decades of spaghetti on the current engine.
Blizzard is upgrading their engine constantly with every expansion. Comparing current zones to zones that still use vanilla assets or TBC assets is a night and day difference.
Don’t expect UE4 style stuff though, like, ever…
Want to know what is easy? Whinging. And GD is damn good at it.
As great as this would be, it’s hardly universal. FFXIV is probably WoW’s biggest competition and it only sparingly uses voice acting in quests.
Never I hope. I can read way faster than some c-level intern voice actor can “act” it out.
Think of the Maw intro, with all that voice acting…
…and all of that RP walking and listening while they do it.
Now imagine the entirety of WoW like that.
You’re welcome.
WoW doesn’t have graphical issues.
IT has balance and content issues.
I hardly think that ActiVision can afford Morgan Freeman for this.
And really, do we really want anyone else for reading quests?
I’ll agree that the graphics could use an update. Not to the levels in some other games (CoD, Final Fantasy), maybe halfway point between WoW and the others.
Fully voiced questing?? Make it an option. Have their employees do it rather than outsourcing. The one person I’d choose for voice actor is Jim Cummings (Darkwing Duck) if he’s available.
