Engi Tinkers that are still useful?

Been looking through a lot of the old tinkers and the only one that I really wanted to use again was the grenade belt tinker but it stops working on things past lvl 83. Anyone else have experience with any obscure tinkers that might still be useful?

I don’t know if it’s obscure but I have the goblin glider tinker on every cloak I own

Goblin glider is crazy useful. Better than the crap BFA ones we got

Pretty sure Goblin Glider and Nitro Boosts are the only ones that are still useful.

3 reasons why my main (and many of my alts) are Engineers, and will always be:

  • Glider Tinker
  • Nitro Boosts on the belt
  • Loot-a-rang

Ok so loot a rang, what does that do exactly? I see it brought up a lot.

Using loot a rang makes u throw a boomrang which collects all the loot around u which can be looted in range .

Yep, just a ‘boomerang’ that fetches loot. You don’t need to target anything, hit it and fwipfwipfwip loot collected. Very much the Ranged DPS’s best friend, saves a lot of unnecessary running around.

Something behind you died and the Demon Hunter tank isn’t waiting around for you to run back and get it? Loot-a-rang!

You killed something halfway up that cliff and can’t get to it? Loot-a-rang!

Your raid just killed a massive amount of trash mobs, and you can’t even tell if there’s loot that might contain a very lucrative BoE item? Loot-a-rang!

Not an easy item to craft. AND there’s two versions, both toys. One works for any alts but, sadly, ONLY in Warlords of Draenor regions (if I recall correctly) and the other only works for engineer alts, but will work anywhere.

Hunters have a glyph or something they can use to train their pet to do the same thing. Though it’s a little slower.

Neat Ive been engi since cata and never noticed it, was hoping some of the old tinkers would have some uses other than just using glider and nitro boost. The new ones are nice but the CD makes them very unwieldy.

cloak = goblin glider
belt = nitro boost

100% of the time, on all of my engineers

Yeah same was just hoping that there would be more than that still usable in terms of tinkers.

I consider myself to be quite useful. The most useful tinker actually.

If by “tinker” you mean the engineering “enchants” I’ve met a few people who like the current bfa ones. Personally, I think they are nice but completely handicapped by the 10min cd which is just stupidly long. Otherwise, use Nitro Boost. Either it will run your butt out of trouble, blast you into the sky (where you can pop a glider and fly away) or kill you.

Engineering has many other useful items, most are not from BfA. Honestly, of all the professions I have it has the most useful items across all xpac categories and enough useful items from BfA as well.

It’s absolutely the best overall profession for QoL stuff, but terrible for gold making.

i still have the nitro boots/goblin glider on my engies even tho we have been given newer ones the boots and glider still wins
